Abstract: Terminal members of an electric tool, such as a soldering iron or the like, for receiving detachable tips wherein each tip has a pair of electrical conductors which are detachably secured to the terminal members. Each terminal member is an electrically conducting member having a longitudinal bore to receive a tip conductor, the mouth of the bore preferably being conically countersunk to facilitate conductor entry. A spring member, secured to the terminal member by a set screw inserted into a threaded opening intersecting the longitudinal bore remote from the mouth thereof, has a portion overlying the bored end of the member, the portion being movable transversely in opposition to spring bias.
Abstract: An arcuate scraper for concave surfaces, such as the inside surface of many automobile windshields, having an elongated handle with a forward end portion arcuate in transverse cross section, a scraping blade disposed transversally on the concave surface of the forward end of portion, a longitudinally movable slider connected with the blade for extending and retracting the scraping edge thereof with respect to the forward end of the handle and a tiltable keeper operatively related to the slider for locking same and the blade alternatively in blade-extended and blade-retracted positions.
Abstract: A photographic material processing module usable alone for all the processing steps in a processing procedure, or with like modules in side-by-side relation, each module performing one or more of the processing steps. Exposed photographic material is mounted in a cylindrical container having at one end a cover provided with an opening for receiving and discharging processing liquids. The module has a mechanical arrangement for rotating the container a few revolutions in one direction followed by a few revolutions in the opposite direction, and, in preferred form, a mechanism for simultaneously reciprocating the container axially, such movements providing optimum shear relation between processing liquid and photographic material for streak-free processing. A liquid supplying system is provided for feeding measured amounts of processing liquid at proper temperature into the container, and for elevating one end of the container to discharge the processing liquid at the conclusion of a timed processing step.
Abstract: A lip seal assembly establishing a sealed relationship between two spaced relatively movable members wherein one of the members has a pair of adjacent annular recesses of different effective diameters. An annular lip seal element of resilient material is disposed in one of the annular recesses, the element having an annular lip portion extending across the space between members into engagement with the other member and establishing a seal therewith due to deformation of the lip portion. An O-ring of resilient material is disposed in the other annular recess, the O-ring exerting bias pressure on the lip seal element to hold the element in sealed relation with the associated member and to maintain the annular lip portion in sealing engagement with the other member.
