Abstract: A cationized supporting material 2 is immersed into a treatment solution containing a level dyeing agent, and then immersed into a treatment solution containing a metal phthalocyanine complex and then dried to thereby obtain an odor eliminating material 1. Alternatively, a cationized supporting material 2 is immersed into a treatment solution containing a metal phthalocyanine complex and a migration inhibitor and then dried to thereby obtain an odor eliminating material 1. The odor eliminating material exerts excellent odor elimination performance against ammonia, hydrogen sulfide, methyl mercaptan, acetic acid and acetaldehyde.
Abstract: Disclosed are methods and apparatus for conducting market research and developing product designs. The methods involve generating and presenting, typically electronically, generations of design alternatives to persons participating in the design, selection, or market research exercise. The participants transmit data indicative of their preferences among or between the presented design alternatives. Some of the data is used to conduct a conjoint analysis or non-convergent exercise to investigate the drivers of the preferences of the group or its members, and at least a portion are used to derive follow-on generations of design alternatives or proposals. The follow-on designs are preferably generated through the use of an evolutionary or genetic computer program, influenced by the participants' preferences.

Abstract: A plurality of first base images are formed from a base color output in accordance with a predetermined adjustment value. A plurality of first correction images are formed on the first base images from a correction color to be a subject for correction output in accordance with a predetermined adjustment value. The first correction images are displaced within a predetermined range. The first adjustment value is determined from changed adjustment values. The second base images are formed from the base color output in accordance with the predetermined adjustment value, and the second correction images are formed from the correction color output in accordance with a plurality of adjustment values determined based on the first adjustment value. The second adjustment value having an extreme is determined from a plurality of adjustment value candidates. Finally, the adjustment value for the correction color is corrected to the determined second adjustment value.
Abstract: A laser projection system scans an output laser light beam onto an object to detect features. A high-sensitivity optical feedback system receives and detects a feedback beam of the output beam light diffusely reflected from the object. The feedback light and projected output beam share the same beam path between beam-steering mirrors of the projector and the object. The laser projection system has light suppression components to control stray scattered light, including ambient light, from being detected. A computer of the laser projection system calculates fiducial points on the object from detected features to align the projection system with the object without using targets. This feature detection is used in a process to guide assembly and fabrication on or to the object, and to verify the accurate placement of parts and fabrication steps in place after they are assembled or processed. In one form, the detected feature is a light spot on the object produced by a second light source.

Abstract: An apparatus, which includes a light source, a polarizing plate for converting the light beam to linearly polarized light, a half mirror for dividing the light beam into signal light and reference light and superimposing the signal light and the reference light on each other to produce interference light, a wavelength plate for converting the reference light to circularly polarized light, a frequency shifter for shifting a frequency of the reference light, a reference mirror which is moved by a piezoelectric element, a polarization beam splitter for extracting an S-polarized light component and a P-polarized light component from the interference light, CCDs for detecting the respective polarized light components and outputting detection signals, and portion for calculating a signal intensity of the interference light and a phase thereof based on the detection signals. An image of an object to be measured is formed based on a result obtained by calculation.
Abstract: A coupling for resilient interconnection of two objects, especially a wheel axle housing and a chassis of a vehicle. The coupling comprises an elongated supporting piece (50), which extends in a longitudinal direction and two end attachment portions (52, 54) and a central portion (56). The coupling also comprises an elastic element (60), which is arranged around the central portion (56) and has an approximately cylindrical outer surface (64) and two end surfaces (68, 70). The coupling further comprises a first and a second abutment member (82, 84), where the first abutment member (82) has a bottom (90) and a tubular portion (86), which is fixed to the bottom (90) and has an open portion and a cylindrical inner surface (98). The bottom has a trough-going hole (106) through which one end attachment portion (52) can extend. The second abutment member (84) has a hole (108) through which the second end attachment portion (54) can extend.
Abstract: The invention relates to a composition for the stabilization of sulphur-containing amino acids and/or for the inhibition of the continuous formation of sulphur-containing amino acids in withdrawn blood, to the use of suitable substances and compositions therefor as well as optionally for the determination of sulphur-containing amino acids in blood, to a process for these purposes, as well as to a blood collecting device applied appropriately to these processes.

Abstract: An electron emitting element is of a structure in which a semiconductor layer is formed between an upper electrode and a lower electrode, wherein an organic compound adsorption layer is formed on a semiconductor surface of the semiconductor layer by causing the organic compound to be adsorbed on the semiconductor surface. Herein, the semiconductor layer can be made of silicon or polysilicon and partly or as a whole porous. The absorbed organic compound can be a non-cyclic hydrocarbon, a compound obtained by coupling at least an aldehyde group to a non-cyclic hydrocarbon, or a non-cyclic hydrocarbon having an unsaturated bond. As a result, there can be provided an electron emitting element capable of stably operating in the atmosphere or in a low vacuum even when being operated in the atmosphere or in the low vacuum and an imaging device using the electron emitting element.
Abstract: A computer platform automatic testing method and system is proposed, which is designed for use in conjunction with a computer platform for performing an automatic testing procedure on a computer-dedicated circuit unit installed on the computer platform, and which is characterized by the capability of performing an automatic testing procedure on a computer-dedicated circuit unit based on a user-specified set of hardware specification data about the computer platform and circuit unit under test, and the capability of automatically generating a test report that lists related data about each faulted part of the circuit unit being tested. This feature allows hardware engineers to more conveniently and efficiently correct faulted parts in the circuit unit being tested.
