  • Patent number: 6823771
Abstract: A device for hot beverages, such as coffee, tea, herbal tea, comprises a lower container for receiving water, an upper container for receiving brewed beverages, and a grounds holder assembly with an injector differential system, into which coffee ground, tea leaves and herbs are placed. The grounds are subjected to high temperature water and steam, to extract essences and produce a beverage, such as espresso coffee, tea, chamomile and others. The injector differential system has an injector nozzle an injector floating piston in the lower portion of the hollow stem. Pressurized hot water and steam from the lower container flow through the injector nozzle, lifting injector floating piston, at predermined high temperature and pressure, through the holes of lower perforated plate, and then into the grounds for brewing process. The water and stem extract of the grounds pass through inverted funnel and it is collected into the upper cylindrical container.

  • Patent number: 6434900
Abstract: A prefabricated wall system for free-standing subdivision partitions, highway sound and visual barriers, privacy walls, or walls of a building having a plurality of prefabricated modular panels that are removably interconnected and installed. Each panel is essentially a factory-built sandwich having an expanded plastic foam core between two composite reinforcing wafers. Each wafer is comprised of an inner layer of fiberglass coated with an exterior layer of concrete reinforced with a grid of steel bars. The foam core has a pair of vertical cylindrical voids sized and spaced to mate with foundation columns pre-poured on site. The ends of each panel are reinforced with a steel sling lifting assembly embedded in concrete that includes removable eyebolts at the top edge whereby the panels can be attached to cables at each end for hoisting above the foundation columns and then lowering into place. A vertical groove or trough at each end of the panels receives a connector, such an expansion joint filler.

  • Patent number: 6401863
Abstract: A new multi-purpose portable davit anchoring system is provided, having a sectional vertical support mast which comes apart for compact stowage and is easily reassembled. The support mast incorporates a screw jack assembly which adjusts the height of the mast and biases the support mast between two opposing surfaces, such as a floor and ceiling. The biasing action enables it to be firmly yet removably attached to a building wherein the exterior walls are not load-bearing but merely sheathing, and to provide support for a damaged ceiling that might otherwise collapse. A boom member is removably fastened to the support mast, for deploying a lifting and lowering cable away from the side of the building. A mounting plate is provided for a winch assembly that can wind up the cable or release it at a controlled rate of speed.

  • Patent number: 6148693
Abstract: A tool improved over the prior art provides a means for easily and safely removing a timepiece mainspring from its barrel for cleaning and lubricating. A barrel holder is provided having a rim, and an essentially planar surface which includes openings therethrough. A mainspring barrel containing a mainspring is inserted into a mating opening. A barrel holder cap is snapped over a rim of the barrel holder. The cap surface includes openings opposite the barrel holder openings. The cap and barrel holder thereby form a receptacle for receiving an extracted mainspring. The watchmaker accesses a loop of the mainspring in the barrel holder, and removes the mainspring. The energy in the spring is thereby released and the expanding spring is captivated in the receptacle, permitting removal therefrom for cleaning and lubricating. In an improved version of the invention, a circular disc having a plurality of circular openings for receiving mainspring barrels of varying size.

  • Patent number: 5970634
Abstract: A semi-submersible machine moves on rotatable endless belt tracks over diverse surfaces and has two tools on articulated booms for remediation of roadside drainage ditches, retention ponds and other shallow water bodies. One tool is a cutter bar for cutting vegetation at a plurality of angles and positions above or under water, and the other tool is a rotatable pair of opposing clawlike jaws for raking or scouring soil above or under water to restore percolation performance, and to remove loosened vegetative matter without removing soil and water. The vehicle is submersible to a depth of forty inches, and can traverse a slope of thirty degrees while its tilting control platform remains above water and level, thereby maintaining stability of the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 5819466
Abstract: A peripheral termiticide delivery system of flexible apertured tubing is provided for injection under pressure of termiticide between the exterior walls of a building and its exterior coating. The tubing preferably has flanges extending therefrom whereby it is affixed to the walls around the building above ground level, and the apertures are protected from clogging by coating material. Injection ports for injection of termiticide into the tubing are disposed at intervals along the tubing, which ports are adapted to extend outside the exterior surfacing materials. Termiticide is injected under pressure into each port until all sections of tubing are filled to overflowing and termiticide exiting the apertures soaks the adjacent wall surfaces and runs down into the adjacent soil, creating a termite barrier. The system may be installed after construction by cutting a channel through the exterior coating, inserting the tubing into the channel and then reapplying exterior coating.
