  • Patent number: 6706023
Abstract: The present invention relates to an irrigation device for use in an orifice. The device has a tubular member having a distal end and a proximal end and at least one bore axially extending from the proximal end to the distal end. The bore terminates at a plurality of orifices which extend at an angle from the bore. As an additional feature, the tubular member can define an internal baffle which extends in a direction from the distal end to the proximal end of the tubular member. The internal baffle aids in deflecting a stream of pressurized fluid out the orifices of the tubular member. A flared member is coaxially positioned with respect to the tubular member. The flared member defines a tip in close proximity to the distal end of the tubular member and a base which is in a spaced apart relationship from the tip. The flared member defines a plurality of flared sides extending from the tip to the base. As the flared sides extend from the tip to the base, the flared sides increase in circumference.

  • Patent number: 6667011
Abstract: A recuperative heat exchanger with a catalyst comprises a heat exchanger core composed of a plurality of spaced apart plate members. The plate members are positioned in adjacent and substantially parallel relationship. The plate members define a first plurality of passageways and a second plurality of passageways which extend between the spaced apart plate members. The first plurality of passageways is separate from the second plurality of passageways. The first plurality of passageways is disposed for receiving high temperature exhaust gases while the second plurality of passageways is disposed for receiving supply air. A catalyst material, comprising a support material coated or impregnated with a suitable catalytic agent for removal of pollutants, is disposed within the first plurality of passageways.

  • Patent number: 6664329
Abstract: This coating composition is useful as a floor finish. The floor finish includes a polymer having a controlled particle size, a controlled particle size distribution, and higher than normal weight percent solids content. This unique polymer provides a floor finish that has a higher than normal solids content and a lower than expected viscosity. The preferred polymer is a vinyl acrylic copolymer. The preferred floor finish has a solids content of 30-40 weight percent and a viscosity of less than 10 centipoise (cps). These unique properties allows the floor finish to be spread with a conventional string mop. Two to three applications of this floor exhibit equal or better gloss and protection than three to six coats of a normal floor finishes having solids of 15-25 percent by weight.

  • Patent number: 6655192
Abstract: A permeameter provides normal and lateral permeability measurements on porous materials. The permeability measurements can be made on compressed or uncompressed samples and can be made at room temperature or at elevated temperatures. A wide variety of fluids, gas or liquid, can be used as the penetrating test fluid depending on the application and the porosity of porous sample. The penetrating test fluid is forced through the sample under pressure. The load, the fluid displacement, and the time are recorded and used in the calculations of permeability, porosity, pore size distribution, average pore size and the number of pores per unit area.

  • Patent number: 6641665
Abstract: The automated system includes a fluid dispenser having an applicator tip which is used to apply a fluid to an object. A compliance mechanism is utilized to assist in maintaining the applicator tip of the fluid dispenser in contact with the object during the coating operation. A robot can be utilized to advance the object past the applicator tip during the coating operation. The fluid dispenser is mounted on a movable arm to allow the fluid dispenser to be moved or rotated into and away from the position where fluid is applied to the object. The automated system provides a fluid application system that can apply a precise and repeatable layer of fluid to an object. The use of the robot allows larger objects to be easily handled and for the coating process to be done in a rapid fashion. The automated system is flexible and can readily accommodate changes in the object that is to be coated or the configuration of the coating that is to be applied to the object.
