Round window driving transducer for easy implantation and implantable hearing device having the same
Patent number: 8231520Abstract: The present invention relates to a round window driving transducer for easy implantation and an implantable hearing device having the same. The round window driving transducer is implantable in the round window of the cochlea in the middle ear cavity, and has excellent high frequency characteristics, which can assist patients with sensorineural hearing loss to hear sound better. The round window driving transducer can be placed inside the middle ear cavity, radiate sound with high efficiency, and be implanted by surgery using a fixing part formed with shape memory alloy, shape memory resin, or a bendable spring structure. Further, the round window driving transducer can overcome problems of the prior art, such as a difficult surgery and low vibration efficiency, which would inevitably occur when floating mass transducers are implanted in a drilled groove in the bone or when various types of piezoelectric transducers are implanted in the round window.Type: GrantFiled: August 21, 2008Date of Patent: July 31, 2012Assignee: Kyungpook National University Industry-Academic Corporation FoundationInventors: Jin Ho Cho, Il Yong Park, Kyu Yup Lee -
Patent number: 8229093Abstract: A new and improved method for marketing to customers based upon incoming telephone calls is herein disclosed. A marketing method for use with a broadcast featuring multiple performers for whom at least one audience member may vote, the vote being based upon a performer's performance, the vote being communicated by an electronic device includes receiving the vote from at least one audience member, the vote being cast for at least one of the performers, capturing contact information for the audience member who cast the vote, identifying the contact information with the performer, and communicating a marketing offer to the audience member, the marketing offer related to the performer.Type: GrantFiled: February 6, 2007Date of Patent: July 24, 2012Inventor: David A. Patent number: 8216123Abstract: An implantable middle ear hearing device having a tubular vibration transducer to drive a round window is designed to input sound to a round window opposite an oval window in an inner ear. The tubular vibration transducer has a unique structure that does not attenuate the magnitude of a signal, particularly, in a high frequency band. Sound delivery effect is much higher than those of conventional schemes. It is also possible to minimize difficulties associated with and problems resulting from the operation, which the conventional methods would have. Further, the transducer can have a relatively less compact than ossicle contact type transducers, and thus be easily fabricated. The hearing device can be applied to a sensorineural hearing loss patient with the ossicle damaged. Moreover, since sound is directly transmitted without through the ear drum and the ossicle, high efficiency sound delivery is achievable and hearing loss compensation are easy.Type: GrantFiled: July 18, 2008Date of Patent: July 10, 2012Assignee: Kyungpook National University Industry Academic Corporation FoundationInventors: Jin-Ho Cho, Il-Yong Park, Ki-Woong Seong

Patent number: 8092186Abstract: A random pitch impeller for a fuel pump has number of blades. An incremental angle of the blades is set by the expression: ?? ? ? i = ( 360 N ) + ( - 1 ) i × Am × sin ? ( p 1 × 360 N × i ) × cos ? ( P 2 × 360 N × i ) , where ??I is the incremental angle between the blades, N is the total number of blades (N=2, 3, 5, 7, 11, 13, 17, . . . ), Am is the distribution magnitude of the inter-blade interval (equally divided angle) (0<Am<360/N), i is the order of the blade (i=1, 2, 3, . . . , N), and P1 and P2 are the factors exerting an influence on the cycle (0<P1<N, and 0?P2?N). The incremental angle has maximum and minimum values a difference of which satisfies the expression: 2°?MAX?MIN?6°, where MAX is the maximum value, and MIN is the minimum value of the incremental angle.Type: GrantFiled: April 27, 2009Date of Patent: January 10, 2012Assignee: Hyundam Industrial Co., Ltd.Inventors: Jin-Wook Jang, Yong-Taek Hwang, Young-seok Choi, Kyoung-Yong Lee, Uk-Hee Jeong, Murase Seiji
