Abstract: A system and method for automatically generating content for distribution via a network channel includes and involves a channel service provider that has a first automatic data processing system that includes a data storage sub-system for storing a network document and a first processor that is operative to specify a section of the network document to be broadcast via the network channel and to automatically scan the network document to extract and store the section of the network document in a network addressable resource within the data storage sub-system. The system and method also includes and involves a second automatic data processing system which is coupled to the channel service provider and which includes a content manifestation device and a second processor that is operative to access the network addressable resource to retrieve the section of the network document and to cause the content manifestation device to manifest the section of the network document.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for controlling a light source that is used during operation of an imaging device (e.g., a camera) and, in particular, during operation of a camera feature/subsystem such as an AF subsystem, a red-eye reduction subsystem, a self-timer subsystem, etc. The apparatus and method include and involve a light source which is configured to emit light in relation to the operation of a subsystem of an imaging device, and a light source control unit which is configured to control an amount of light emitted by the light source based on a preset operating parameter (e.g., a user-selectable camera setting). The apparatus and method may be included within an imaging device such as a camera or in a peripheral (e.g., a flash unit, etc.) configured to operate with such a camera.

Abstract: A camera includes a film strip protection system disposed within a film cartridge compartment. A film strip is maintained by a film cartridge. The film strip and the film cartridge are movable within the film cartridge compartment. The camera further includes a film strip guide unit for guiding the film strip when it extends from the film cartridge. The film strip protection system is configured to restrict the movement of the film strip to prevent the film strip from being damaged by the film strip guide unit.

The housing is made from a material that transmits infrared light emitted by the flash illumination device to an area outside of the housing. Also disclosed is a camera that includes a built-in flash unit that further includes a flash illumination device which illuminates during operations of the camera. The camera also includes a housing that encases the built-in flash illumination unit. The housing, like the housing of the flash unit, is made from a material that transmits infrared light emitted by the flash illumination device to an area outside of the housing. Also provided is a command module for use by a camera in controlling another device. The command module includes an infrared light source, and a housing that encases the infrared light source.

The apparatus and method include and involve a light source configured to illuminate a subject to imaged by an imaging device, a light receiving element configured to receive light emitted by the light source and reflected by the subject, and to generate a signal based on the reflected light, a light amount determination unit coupled to the light receiving element and configured to determine an amount of reflected light received by the light receiving element based on the signal, a light amount comparison unit coupled to the light amount determination unit and configured to compare the amount of reflected light determined by the light amount determination unit with a threshold value to generate a corresponding control signal, and a light source regulator coupled to the light amount comparison unit.

Abstract: A bracket for mounting a thermal cutoff device within an electronic device having an electronic component. The bracket includes, but is not limited to, a fastener for fastening the bracket within the electronic device, and a holder integrally formed with the fastener. The holder is configured to releasably hold a thermal cutoff device. The thermal cutoff device is configured to operate based on heat generated by the electronic component. The heat is transmitted to the thermal cutoff device via the fastener and the holder.
