  • Patent number: 5201434
Abstract: A standard garbage receiving dumpster is provided with a locking bar disposed across its lid. A locking mechanism cooperating with the locking bar is added to the dumpster to prevent the locking bar from rotating when the dumpster is in an upright position. A lock is provided which when opened permits the locking bar to be disengaged from the locking mechanism to allow authorized users to rotate the locking bar and open the dumpster lid to permit the deposit of garbage therein. The locking mechanism is disengaged when the dumpster is in an inverted position to permit the lid to open and the contents of the dumpster to be removed.

  • Patent number: 4775326
Abstract: A contact pin for a printed circuit board comprises a mounting portion for mounting the contact pin in a hole in the printed circuit board. The mounting portion comprises three legs extending in the longitudinal direction of the contact pin, at least the outer legs joining a solid contact pin portion at both ends. As seen in cross section, the center leg is bent radially outwardly and lies with its inwardly directed part between the outer legs. Both outer legs are mainly twisted to a position in which these outer legs extend obliquely outwardly from the center leg, as seen in cross section. The center leg is displaced radially outwardly with respect to the longitudinal axis of the contact pin a constant distance substantially along its whole length. As seen in cross section, the center of the circle touching the outer side of the three legs, lies at a distance from the longitudinal axis of the contact pin in a direction radially opposite from the center leg.

  • Patent number: 4607907
Abstract: An electrical conductor contact having opposed cantilever fingers configured to mate with a mating contact at a low mating force is provided. Each finger has a contact portion at its free end. The contact portions are offset axially from each other in the longitudinal direction of insertion of a mating contact thereby permitting the surface of the contact portion of the upper finger to be located below the surface of the contact portion of the lower finger. The contact portions are also preferably offset axially from each other along the other spatial axes. The contact configuration reduces the maximum mating force and permits plating of the contacts with a minimum amount of precious metals. The invention further provides a receptacle connector for low force mating with a pin header in printed circuit board applications which is comprised of a plurality of electrical contacts so configured, and a specially configured housing for housing and preloading the plurality of electrical conductor contacts.

  • Patent number: 4602429
Abstract: Method and apparatus for assembling electrical connectors of the dual in-line type wherein contacts are separated from a contact strip and inserted into contact openings in the connector body. The contacts are arranged in the contact strip at a lesser pitch then the pitch of the openings that they are received into on the body. Means and methods are described to separate the contacts from the strip and align them with their respective openings of the body to which they are assembled.

  • Patent number: 4585291
Abstract: A dual-in-line connector assembly of the closed-entry, closed-bottom type having an integral structure comprised of a base and a body of closely conforming configuration. The integral assembly defines a number of socket areas arranged in two parallel rows which communicate with a flux rinsing drainage system comprising a plurality of drainage paths of two different configurations which lead to orifices in the assembly exterior located away from the contacts. Drainage paths of the first type include a drainage chute in the socket area floor which lead directly to the exterior via an opening in the bottom of the drainage chute. The second type of drainage path includes a similar drainage chute leading to a large drainage opening that communicates with an extended oval-shaped centered recess which contributes a dual function of effecting a snap-on locking assembly arrangement.
