Abstract: A merchandise dispensing device of the gravity feed type in which a track having a pair of rails to receive the neck-flanges of suitable bottles is mounted in a rack. The rails include upturned end portions providing a braking section in which gravity feed is arrested. The tracks include two different sized sets of rails which can be selectively positioned to receive bottles having different neck flanges.
Abstract: An automatic feed device (10) for a merchandise display rack has a feed assembly (18) powered for the duration of its travel by a primary spring (16) to move articles along a track (11) and includes a secondary spring (17) to augment the spring force exerted on the feed assembly (18) only during an initial part of its travel, thereby producing a feed having a low uniform speed.
Abstract: A display device such as is used to display information relating to the description and price of goods for sale comprises a translucent facia panel (12) providing the front face of a display cabinet behind which is mounted one or more cartridges (16,17) each carrying self-coiling information strips (27,28,29) readily adjustable so that the information regarding the goods may be quickly and easily changed, the cartridges being mounted on mounting panels (24) spaced from the facia (12) so that the cartridges (16,17) are located within the space between the mounting panels and the facia of the cabinet.
Abstract: A display device such as is used to display information relating to the description and price of goods for sale comprises a facia panel (10) to which is attached one or more cartridges (20) each carrying self-coiling information strips (29,30,31) readily adjustable so that the information regarding the goods may be quickly and easily changed, the attaching means (27,28) provided on the cartridge (20) and the attaching means (13,14,15,16) provided on the facia panel (10) co-operating to provide a push-pull connection.
Abstract: A wraparound carton with overlapping panels secured together by adjustable locking means to compensate for variations in the diameter of the articles to be wrapped. The locking arrangement comprises a locking tab struck from the outer lap panel and having a plurality of lateral projections along the side edges thereof so as to form wavy lines, and a locking aperture arranged in the underlying lap panel for receiving the locking tap therethrough and having side edges which converge toward the end edge of the associated lap panel. Also disclosed is a device for tightening the wrapper about the articles whereby the lap panels are pulled into overlapping relationship at a predetermined rate.
Abstract: An integrally formed bottle carrier with a plurality of spaced split collars in which bottles can be locked into and supported by their neck-shoulders and removed, each collar supported by an individual frame interconnected to an adjoining frame by a ribbed member, and a plurality of flexible tabs attached to the sides of the bottle carrier to permit machine loading of bottles into the bottle carrier.
Abstract: A form-fitting shipping container formed from a single blank of generally rectangular outline and particularly suited for the shipping and storing of upholstered furniture. As used for upholstered chairs of the type having a relatively low seat and a backrest, the container comprises an intermediate horizontal wall overlying a front portion of the chair, a horizontal top wall extending over the top of the backrest, and an inclined upper front wall extending between the mentioned intermediate horizontal wall and top wall. The container is reinforced at areas of increased stress by integral reinforcing elements providing a multi-ply construction of the inclined upper front wall and preferably also of the intermediate horizontal wall and top wall. In a preferred embodiment, the intermediate horizontal wall and the top wall are of the same size so that stacking of like containers in inverted relation with each other is facilitated and a compact and stable assembly is obtained.
