Abstract: A method for increasing the growth rate and/or improving the lean meat to fat ratio in farm and domestic animals. An effective amount of a 3-amino-4-hydroxy(or alkoxy)phenethanolamine derivative, pharmacologically-acceptable acid addition or metal salt thereof is administered either orally or parenterally to animals. Novel 3-amino-4-hydroxy(or alkoxy)phenethanolamine derivatives are also described.
Abstract: Liquid pesticidal compositions comprising pyrethroid solutions in vegetable oils, fatty acids, mixtures of fatty acids, tall oils, and mixtures of vegetable oils with fatty acids and tall oils. Pyrethroid pesticidal solutions may optionally contain anionic, non-ionic surfactants, and mixtures thereof. A method of application is also described. These compositions are less irritating to mammalian ocular tissues than are similar conventional formulations.
Abstract: There are provided palatable anthelmintic resinate compositions for companion animals, containing anthelmintically effective amounts of a styrylpyridinium compound and/or an N,N-dialkylpiperazine carboxamide.
Abstract: Aqueous-soluble compositions of quaternary ammonium plant-growth-regulating compounds possessing improved temperature stability. Compositions contain a mixture of cationic and nonionic surfactants.
Abstract: There is provided a method for increasing lean meat deposition and/or improving lean meat to fat ratio in poultry, domestic pets, sheep, swine, rabbits, goats and cattle by administering, orally or parenterally, to said animals an effective amount of a phenylethane derivative or acid salt thereof.
Abstract: In order to control the auto-sampler in a device such as a gas chromatograph in which data is sampled by an analog-to-digital converter, the converter providing outputs indicative of its status and having one state when the converter is enabled, another state when the converter is disabled and pulsing between said states when the converter is acquiring data, an automatic injection control device is provided which: counts the sampling pulses from the converter to insure that a full conversion cycle has been completed and sets a first signal to so indicate; through a retriggerable, one-shot multivibrator insures that the last of the sampling pulses is completed and provides a second signal accordingly; and adds these two signals with the status signal indicating that the converter is in a condition to receive data to provide a trigger signal for use by the auto-sampler.Further, a method for generating triggering signals to initiate such event is presented.
Abstract: The present invention relates to plant growth regulating compositions comprising the mixtures of (2-chloroethyl)-trimethylammonium chloride and 2-(4-isopropyl-4-methyl-5-oxo-2-imidazolin-2-yl) 3-quinolinecarboxylic acid, as active ingredients. These compositions enhance crop yields of wheat or barley.
Abstract: Novel cyclic pentapeptide somatostatin antagonist and method for increasing the release of growth hormone, insulin, and glucagon in mammals are described.
Abstract: A method for the racemization and hydrolysis of alkyl esters of (-)-2-(4-difluoromethoxyphenyl)-3-methylbutyric acid, followed by the resolution of said resulting racemic acid into its optically active components via salts prepared from the same with optically active amines and recovery of the dextrorotatory (+) isomer therefrom. The present invention also relates to insecticidal pyrethroids prepared from (+)-2-(4-difluoromethoxyphenyl)-3-methylbutyric acid.
Abstract: Novel cyclic pentapeptide somatostatin antagonists and method for increasing the release of growth hormone, insulin, and glucagon in mammals are described.

Abstract: There is provided a method for enhancing the growth rate of meat-producing animals and/or improving the efficiency of feed utilization thereby, which involves, orally or parenterally, administering to said animals a growth-enhancing amount of a phenylethane compound or the acid addition salt thereof.
Abstract: There are provided certain substituted phenylalkoxyphenylurea compounds, methods for the preparation thereof, and methods for the selective control of dicotyledonous and certain monocotyledonous plants in the presence of agronomic crops.
Abstract: There is provided a novel method for treating wet-land crop growing areas so as to selectively control undesirable weed species in the presence of said wet-land crops and to simultaneously and synergistically enhance the crop yield therefrom utilizing herbicidal compositions containing as the active ingredients (a) N-(1-ethylpropyl)-2,6-dinitro-3,4-xylidine and (b) methyl-o-(5-isopropyl-5-methyl-4-oxo-2-imidazolin-2-yl)benzoate or sodium-o-(5-isopropyl-5-methyl-4-oxo-2-imidazolin-2-yl)benzoate.

Abstract: A method for the preparation of 1-(4'-amino-3',5'-dichlorophenyl)-2-alkyl)or dialkyl)aminoethanols. The method involves preparation of the above compounds from the corresponding aminoketones by reduction with hydrogen in the presence of platinum oxide catalyst and a promoter, such as stannous chloride.
Abstract: A method for the resolution of racemic 2-(p-difluoromethoxyphenyl)-3-methylbutyric acid into its optically active components. The method utilizes salts prepared by reacting the racemic acid with optically active amines and recovers the dextrorotatory isomer. The present invention also relates to insecticidal pyrethroids prepared from (+)-2-(p-difluoromethoxyphenyl)-3-methylbutyric acid.
