  • Patent number: 5184941
Abstract: A motor-pump unit includes a first mounting leg member at the interconnection of the motor and the pump and an outer multiple releasable outer mounting leg member at the outer end of the motor. The releasable leg member permits mounting with spaced supports under the motor or by removing of the outer leg cantilevered motor. The first leg member has a U-shaped base secured to the pump and extended beneath the motor frame adjacent the pump with circumferential spaced depending legs. An extended outer frame of the motor frame has an end notch in the bottom wall portion and the outer leg member has a mounting plate with an edge recess telescoped into the edge of the notch. An end cap has a projection extended into the opposed recess in the plate. The outer leg member has a single depending leg to define a three point mounting of the motor-pump unit. The outer leg member is removed for a cantilevered support and a closure plate is clamped into the notch to close the opening.

  • Patent number: 4473197
Abstract: A cable reel apparatus includes a rotatably mounted cable spool in a fixed support. A locking pin is provided on the support and is engageable with the spool to hold the spool and cable hook-up in a fixed position. A gear unit connected to the support includes a spool gear rotatably mounted on a spool shaft and a spring gear coupled to a spring motor. Friction drive discs are located to the opposite sides of the spol gear and coupling discs abut the drive discs. The coupling discs are connected to the spool shaft. "Belleville" disc springs are mounted in abutting engagement with the outer coupling discs and the nut is threaded on the shaft to collapse the springs onto the coupling discs to increase the spring force and lock the gear to the shaft. The nut may be released to reduce the spring force and effectively decouple the shaft and gear, thereby permitting controlled release of the tension in the spring drive means.

  • Patent number: 4466039
Abstract: A three-phase power supply has a current transformer in each power line. The transformer secondary winding is connected to a load. Generally, the load is a control means responsive to the current being sensed. A triac in parallel with the secondary winding and load has its gate connected by a voltage sensitive circuit to sense the corresponding secondary winding voltage and to conduct and protect the transformer in the event of load loss. The gate circuit includes a metal oxide varistor and a linear resistor in series connected in parallel with the secondary winding. A second linear resistor is connected to the common node of the first linear resistor and metal oxide varistor. The second linear resistor is in series with a diac and connects the gate to the common node of the varistor and first resistor. A trigger capacitor is connected between the common node of the second resistor and diac and the opposite end of the first linear resistor.

  • Patent number: 4160435
Abstract: An engine flywheel forms the common rotor for a dual alternator unit having a first ignition alternator for the ignition circuit and a second power alternator for battery charging and providing other auxiliary power. The rotor includes first and second closely, axially spaced permanent annular magnets. An ignition and trigger coil assembly is aligned with one magnet and an auxiliary power coil with the second. The power magnet and coil include a substantial number of magnetic poles and coils to produce a significant power output. In a two cylinder engine, the ignition magnet has two radially and oppositely polarized poles. A pair of ignition capacitor charging coils are spaced by 180.degree. with a trigger coil mounted therebetween and circumferentially movable to adjust the timing. First and second ignition capacitors are connected to the charging coil and to the spark plugs and are alternately charged and discharged.
