Patent number: 6053553Abstract: A device for variable subdivision of a storage compartment, especially a trunk in an automobile, has partitions projecting upward from the storage compartment floor and connected with one another with articulation. Two of the partitions are articulated endwise to a storage compartment wall projecting vertically from the storage compartment floor and one partition is displaceable approximately at right angles to the storage compartment wall. To improve the functionality of the device so that it retains its selected spatial division reliably in all extended positions and remains safely secured to the storage compartment floor, a locking device is provided. The locking device acts between the displaceable partition and the floor of the storage compartment. The locking device has a lock on the partition side that is displaceably secured and operated manually, as well as a plurality of locking receptacles arranged in the displacement direction in a row in the floor of the storage compartment.Type: GrantFiled: March 17, 1998Date of Patent: April 25, 2000Assignee: DaimlerChrysler AGInventor: Achim Hespelt

Patent number: 6036593Abstract: A closure device for a closure flap, has an actuating element which is remote from the closure flap. A connecting rod is articulated pivotably on the closure flap and the actuating element to transmit tensile and compressive forces. The connecting rod is assigned to a position element, which is stationary with respect to the mounting of the closure flap, and is provided, at least in the region of the position element, with at least one spring element which acts transversely with respect to the longitudinal extent of said connecting rod. This spring element allows the connecting rod to be moved, by way of contact with the position element, into defined longitudinal positions with associated positions of the closure flap and actuating element. The connecting rod is preferably a spring wire incorporating a shaped spring element.Type: GrantFiled: July 23, 1997Date of Patent: March 14, 2000Assignee: Daimlerchrysler AGInventors: Juergen Koerber, Tilo Volkmann, Juergen Chaloupka

Patent number: 6029987Abstract: A front axle for a motor vehicle is connected with a leaf spring mounted transversely to the vehicle. The spring is mounted on a cross member by elastic bearings located on both sides of a lengthwise central axis of the vehicle, and connected by these bearings to the vehicle body. A leaf spring is connected at its free ends with an A-arm and is mounted pivotably on a cross member secured to the body. Between the two pivot bearings of the A-arm in the cross member, the leaf spring is secured elastically in a spring bearing.Type: GrantFiled: May 26, 1998Date of Patent: February 29, 2000Assignee: Dr. Ing. Patent number: 5943853Abstract: The adjacently arranged spinning aggregates of an open-end spinning machine are each provided with an opening device, which includes a removal opening for trash particles. A channel extending in the machine longitudinal direction takes up the trash particles. A sliding carriage traverses in the channel, which sliding carriage is coupled to a belt-like traction mechanism and which pushes the gathered trash particles ahead of itself to a suction point. The channel is wider than the distribution area of the trash particles in this direction. A clearance area occurs hereby in the channel, in which the traction mechanism extends.Type: GrantFiled: November 5, 1997Date of Patent: August 31, 1999Assignee: Novibra GmbHInventor: Gerd Stahlecker

Patent number: 5918296Abstract: There is provided a closing control device for a fallboard of a piano. A fallboard support is detachably mounted on a body of the piano, and the fallboard is rotatably attached to the fallboard support. A linkage has one end thereof connected to the fallboard. A slow closing device is fixed to the fallboard support, and has the other end of the linkage connected thereto, for braking the fallboard by way of the linkage when the fallboard rotates in a closing direction.Type: GrantFiled: September 30, 1997Date of Patent: June 29, 1999Assignee: Kabushiki Kaisha Kawai Gakki SeisakushoInventors: Muneo Ishida, Tatsuo Furukawa

Patent number: 5578350Abstract: A method for depositing a thin layer on a substrate by laser pulse vapor deposition provides a substantially cylindrical target having a cylinder axis and a curved target surface. A pulsed laser beam is generated having an initial path section and an initial path section axis and is capable of producing a plasma plume from the target when the pulsed laser beam impinges on the curved target surface. A first mirror located between the target and the initial path section of the laser beam is provided having a plurality of reflective interior surfaces and a first mirror axis substantially coincident with an initial path section axis of the laser beam. The laser beam is deflected so as to impinge on the reflective interior surface of the first mirror and subsequently to be reflected and to impinge on the curved target surface by controlling a plane reflective mirror that intersects the first mirror axis and is located on a side of the first mirror opposite from the target.Type: GrantFiled: June 7, 1995Date of Patent: November 26, 1996Assignee: Fraunhofer-GesellschaftInventors: Hermann Mai, Reiner Dietsch, Klaus Schubert

Patent number: 5569370Abstract: An electrochemical system for the recovery of metals from metal ores in which reactions are carried out in separate anode and cathode tanks with the liquid product from the anode tank being separated and purified before being returned to the cathode tank for metal deposition. The separation includes thickening such as liquid solid separation with the liquid proceeding to the cathode tank. A reaction stage may be included before the thickening stage. Purification may include removal of impurities, adjustment of chemical and physical conditions and the addition of cathode reaction enhancers.Type: GrantFiled: October 3, 1994Date of Patent: October 29, 1996Assignee: RMG Services Pty.
