Abstract: Methods for casting thin-walled structural elements made of alloy for automobile bodies using the diecasting, thixocasting, or thixoforming methods, as well as corresponding structural elements are described. In order to produce by these methods in particular body side wall parts including the A, B and C pillars, the castings are cast in several casting slices. The casting slices of a casting are cast, staggered timewise in succession using the same method and from the same alloy but in different casting molds or different parts of a casting mold. At the seams, the casting slices are cast together along a defined shapewise contour. The casting slices can be case together indirectly with interposition of a separate seam strip. However, they can also be cast onto one another, with an already cast first casting slice being placed in a second casting mold and cast together therein with the second casting slice.
Abstract: A brake actuator includes an electric motor, a conversion device for converting the rotational movement of the electric motor into a linear movement and a hydraulic transmission for transmitting the linear movement of the conversion device to an adjusting piston of a brake. The conversion device includes at least two adjusting elements which can be driven by the electric motor and by way of which the at least two hydraulic pistons of the hydraulic transmission can be operated independently of one another in a hydraulic chamber which can be selectively connected with a reservoir.
Abstract: A panel is inserted into a cutout in the visible boundary wall of a fascia, in particular in a motor-vehicle dashboard, which panel contains an airbag cover which is delimited with respect to the panel and is pressed open in the event of a crash by means of an inflating airbag sack. The panel is secured releasably at least in some regions along the contour of the airbag cover and, in the process, outside the airbag cover, in a manner which is invisible from the vehicle interior, by latching projections being provided which are molded integrally onto the rear side of said panel and engage into associated sockets which are not supported on the visible boundary wall of the fascia.

Abstract: An electronic throttle apparatus permits aggregating of various parts and rationalization of installation, and can simplify assembling operation and wiring operation to an engine room for rationalization of an installation space. The throttle apparatus for an engine includes a throttle body housing therein a throttle valve and disposed in an air intake of the engine, a throttle actuating motor, a throttle position sensor detecting a throttle valve angle and an air flow sensor located on upstream of the throttle valve and measuring an intake air flow rate. The throttle actuating motor, the throttle position sensor and the air flow sensor are mounted on the throttle body.
