  • Patent number: 5835813
Abstract: The vertical scanning circuit of an apparatus is of a type which provides a sawtooth whose slope is electrically adjustable, and the apparatus provides the user with circuitry for controlling the position of the lower part of the picture by directly acting on the adjustment of the slope of the sawtooth, even though such an adjustment is generally realized in the factory or during maintenance. To this end, the vertical shift keys (19, 21) of the remote control unit are used to modify the slope of the sawtooth when a menu displayed on the screen is not being used.
