Abstract: Composition useful as hydrocarbon fuel additives of the formula ##STR1## wherein R is a C.sub.9-23 hydrocarbyl group, R' is selected from H and ##STR2## and wherein at least one R' is H, R" is ##STR3## group where X is a divalent hydrocarbyl group of 2 to 34 carbon atoms, n is an integer of 2 or 3 or a combination of 2 and 3, a is an integer of 0-3, b is an integer of 1-2, c is an integer of 0-3 and a+b+c is 2-8.
Abstract: 2-Chloro- and 2-bromo-1,1,1-trifluoroethane react with potassium, cesium or rubidium fluoride in aqueous solution at elevated temperature under autogenous pressure to produce 1,1,1,2-tetrafluoroethane.
Abstract: A process for purifying an aqueous solution of NaOH by removing suspended NaCl and Na.sub.2 SO.sub.4 impurities therefrom comprising bubbling a gas into the impurity-containing NaOH solution at a temperature above 16.degree. C. and up to about 36.degree. C.
Abstract: Soldering with solder fluxes consisting essentially of mono- and/or di-alkyl phosphates and alkyl amine salts of these phosphates wherein the alkyl groups of said phosphates and their salts contain 4-20 carbon atoms.
Abstract: A process for the manufacture of N-(substituted)-3-aminoacrylonitriles of the formula N--(R.sub.1 R.sub.2)--CH.dbd.CH--CN where R.sub.1 is alkyl, phenyl, phenyl substituted with alkyl and/or --NH.sub.2 groups, or --(CH.sub.2).sub.n --NH--CH.dbd.CH--CN and R.sub.2 is hydrogen or alkyl with the proviso that when R.sub.1 is --(CH.sub.2).sub.n --NH--CH.dbd.CH--CN R.sub.2 is hydrogen, n being 1 to 8. The process comprises contacting cyanoacetylene with the appropriate amine in the presence of an inert atmosphere and at low temperatures, especially less than 40.degree. C., and recovering the product at a temperature of not greater than 50.degree. C.
