    Abstract: A female terminal of unitary sheet metal construction is attached to a flexible printed circuit by crimped tabs at the outer edges of a pair of lateral mounting flanges. The flanges are prevented from being spread apart during terminal use by a clamping arrangement on upright posts connecting the ends of the flanges. The female contact portion is provided by spring blades which accept a mating blade from either side and spread without effecting the portions securing the terminal to the flexible printed circuit.

    Abstract: An electrical socket connector is detachably connected to a post terminal having axially arranged multiple contacts which successively increase in size. The socket connector comprises a one-piece connector body having a plurality of longitudinal, vertically arranged, successively wider, cavities each containing an appropriately sized terminal and each having an appropriately sized longitudinal slot for the post terminal. The terminals are secured to lead wires and have forward contact portions comprising a pair of side rails which are connected by longitudinally spaced webs and which have inwardly displaced central portions between the webs which biasingly engage the post terminal contacts. The socket connector is sealed by a boot having flaps which close a rear assembly opening and a bottom wall passage which receives the post terminal. The socket connector also includes a connector lock for securing the socket connector to the post terminal.

The power and ground contact assemblies each consist of a plastic housing and a flat conductor strip which is stamped and bent to shape. The housings for both assemblies are identical. Both conductor strips comprise two elongated legs providing a depressible contact. The conductor strip for the power contact assembly has a terminal portion for connection to a power lead. The conductor strip for the ground contact assembly has a ground strap portion for connection to the pillar.

One race piece is positioned on the other race piece to give a desired preload or end play and maintained in such position by a pair of semicircular hardened and ground keeper ring parts of selected width. The keeper ring parts engage the one race piece and are retained in a groove of the second race piece by a retainer ring secured to the second race piece by a swaging or rolling operation.

The flanges extend in opposite direction to a height equal to a layer thickness. The triple layer median portion comprises upper and lower wings which terminate short of opposite longitudinal sides so that each longitudinal side is a double layer. This configuration permits use with an insulator body having guide channels for the forward and median portions of the terminal which can be made in a butt cored mold.

    Abstract: A pig tail is attached to an oxygen sensor by a sealed electrical connector having four terminals welded to respective contacts of the four way oxygen sensor post terminal. After assembly, the body serves as a welding fixture and for this purpose has diametrically opposed windows which provide access for the welding electrodes. The connector is sealed by a seal boot which is carried by a grommet which slides on the pig tail leads.

    Abstract: An electrical connector is matably attached to an oxygen sensor having a hollow center terminal for exposing the inner electrode of the oxygen sensor to ambient air. The electrical connector comprises a nylon connector body having radially spaced shrouds at a plug-in opening which receives the oxygen sensor terminal. A silicone rubber seal sleeve disposed in the outer shroud sealingly engages the inner shroud and the insulator sleeve of the oxygen sensor to environmentally protect the interface between the oxygen sensor terminal and the mating terminal carried by the connector body. The plug-in opening is vented via grooves in the shrouds. A retaining clip carried by the outer shroud forms a splash shield for the vent inlet. The connector body has an enlarged lead receiving opening which is sealed by a seal sleeve molded on th lead.

One race has bonded elastomeric sealing lips which cooperate with the other race to seal the inner and outer diameter sides of the bearing respectively.
