  • Patent number: 6672387
Abstract: A system (SPARC) for producing a mixed gas-oil stream wherein gas is to be separated and compressed downhole in a turbine-driven compressor before the gas is injected into a subterranean formation. A turbine bypass valve allows all of the stream to bypass the turbine during start-up until surging in the production stream has subsided. The valve then opens to allow a portion of the stream to pass through the turbine. Also, a compressor recycle valve recycles the compressor output until the surging in the stream has subsided while a check valve prevents back flow into the outlet of the compressor.

  • Patent number: 6576107
Abstract: An electrostatic filter for removing contaminants from a dielectric fluid when the filter comprises a plurality of electrically conductive plates positioned in a housing and having filter media disposed between the plates so that during the operation of the filters, fluid flows axially through the media between the electrode plates and into a central recovery zone and is discharged from the filter. A replaceable filter cartridge, a method for removing contaminants from a dielectric fluid using the filter, a filtration system for removing both water and other contaminants from a dielectric fluid using the filter in combination with a water-removal filter and a system for maintaining a supply of filter dielectric fluid for a dielectric fluid user on a continuous basis are disclosed.

  • Patent number: 6156819
Abstract: An aqueous polymer composition containing water and hydrophilic polymers and a method for treating subterranean formations with the composition to reduce formation permeability. The hydrophilic polymers are a mixture of high-molecular-weight polymers having a molecular weight of at least about 2,000,000, and low-molecular-weight polymers having a molecular weight of up to about 1,000,000.

  • Patent number: 4018276
Abstract: A blowout preventer test plug for use in pressure testing a blowout preventer, the plug comprising a first body having fluid passage ports positioned therethrough and a second body having fluid passage ports positioned therethrough positioned on a tubular extension below the first body so that when the first and second bodies are moved into mating contact the fluid passage ports are closed and a seal is urged into sealing contact between a tubular extension of the first body and the inner diameter of a wellhead bore in which the plug is positioned.
