  • Patent number: 4664608
Abstract: A hermetically sealed rotary refrigerant compressor, comprising a compression chamber, a roller eccentrically rotatable in the chamber, and a vane slidably mounted in a slot in the wall of the chamber dividing the chamber between a low pressure suction side and a high pressure compression side including means for modulating the pressure differential between the low pressure suction side and the high pressure compression side of the vane at a preselected time in the compression cycle so as to minimize the frictional forces between the vane and vane slot caused by the pressure differential in the chamber.

  • Patent number: 4586347
Abstract: A refrigerator comprising side-by-side freezer and fresh food storage compartments cooled to their respective low and high operating temperatures by the circulation of streams of below-freezing air thereto includes a storage chamber in the fresh food compartment door maintained at an intermediate temperature by conducting air from the freezer compartment through the chamber.

  • Patent number: 4375752
Abstract: In a self-contained air conditioner unit of the reversible refrigeration system type having cooling and heating cycles, a no-drain heat pump is provided wherein in the heating cycle, water collected on the outdoor heat exchanger operating as the system evaporator is transferred by a condensate disposal system to the indoor section. The condensate is atomized and directed into the indoor air flow and against the relatively warm indoor heat exchanger operating as the condenser to humidify the air. Control means are provided that prevent the condensate disposal system from directing condensate into the indoor air flow during the cooling cycle.
