Abstract: An interactive document processing system includes a display screen that is coupled to a processing device. In addition, the document processing system includes an input device for viewing all or a portion of a hardcopy document on a work surface. The input device generates signals representing the appearance of the hardcopy document from representative electronic data stored in a print memory. In one embodiment, the processing device is connected to the input device to receive the signals, determine the position of a moving indicator relative to the document, and correlate the determined position with the electronic representation of the hardcopy document. The display screen provides information related to user commands that edit and/or select portions of the electronic representation of the hardcopy document.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method of preparing encapsulated bichromal balls. The method involves forming capsules of electrophoretic particles encapsulated within a dielectric fluid such as a hydrocarbon solvent or siloxane oil that includes a small amount of a gelating agent. Bichromal balls are then formed by heating the capsules and applying an electric field. The capsules are then cooled while the electric field is maintained. Upon sufficient gelling, the electrophoretic particles are fixed within the gelled medium, i.e. the capsule. The bichromal gel produced detaches from the inside wall of the capsule, and thereby constitute the resulting encapsulated bichromal balls.

Abstract: An automated device monitors moisture content in exterior sheathing of a building for detecting moisture intrusion into the sheathing walls. A plurality of moisture sensors are embedded in selected exterior walls of the building behind the cladding and are adapted to provide signals representative of the moisture content in the walls at each of the selected locations. A control unit is operatively connected with each of the plurality of moisture sensors for generating an alarm signal when at least one of the signals representative of the moisture content in the plurality of walls is indicative of a moisture content in excess of a predetermined threshold value.
