Abstract: A magnetic jewelry clasp is described that includes a first body member having a magnet that defines a first magnetically attractive surface. The clasp includes a second body member that has a magnet that defines a second magnetically attractive surface that magnetically connects to the first magnetically attractive surface to define a first locking arrangement of the clasp. The clasp includes a safety catch that has a first protuberance that is adapted to open and close the safety catch. The safety catch includes a second protuberance that fits over the end of the second body member which defines a second locking arrangement of the clasp. The Safety catch is designed so that it will function whether the two bodies are brought together with both right side up or with one up side down. It includes a pair of side panels that prevent misalignment of the first and second body members. There is also disclosed a safety catch with a magnet.
Abstract: This invention relates to a miniature, battery operated, air tight light emitting module having a LED/LEDS that projects at least two different frequencies of light energy. The LEDs are mounted in a protective air-tight shell. The LEDs are activated by a magnetic field of associated magnetic rings. The attachment mechanism to hold the module(s) to safety hard hats and helmets consists of an elastic band allowing a module or series of modules to be attached to the exterior surface of various types of helmets.
Abstract: A jewelry clasp having a pair of housings at the free ends of a piece of jewelry and are affixed together by magnetic forces. Each housing has a permanent magnet located therein and which magnets are attracted to each other when the housings are brought together. There is a safety catch on one of the housings having a protuberance extending therefrom that enters a slot in the other body. The slot passes entirely through the housing so that the protuberance can enter the slot in a first orientation and in a second orientation where one housing is inverted 180 degrees from the first orientation. The safety catch also includes a nib that aligns with an indentation formed in the slot and the entering of the nib into the indentation can be felt and/or heard by the wearer to provide assurance that the safety catch is in its locked position.
Abstract: A wholesale and/or retail check out station system includes a biometric finger print reader and storage for reading and storing biometric data of employees having access to the cash registers of the check out stations in the system. Authorization to use a cash register in the system is programmed into the microprocessor in the system, limiting use of a cash register to authorized employees. Employees are identified by finger print using biometric technology. Limitations of use is extended to access to operate particular cash register(s); handling returned merchandise at a cash register; refunds on returned purchases require authorization of the manager and the cashier; cashing checks at a cash register, where the limitation includes only cashing of employer drawn payroll checks of employees; and, clearing errors made in tabulations at a cash register. Unauthorized persons attempting to gain access to cash registers to which they are not authorized serves to activate an alarm.
