  • Patent number: 6814553
Abstract: The present invention is to provide a dual reciprocating bellows pump which can facilitate size reduction design of the whole pump, permit pump manufacture at low cost, and permit reducing the dead spaces in pumping chambers to provide improved self-suction performance. Valve cases of suction side and discharge side valve units are disposed one below the other along a longitudinal axis passing through the center of the cross-section of the bellows such that they project into the associated pumping chambers, and a pair of interlock shafts are disposed at positions spaced apart to the left and right from the center in the transversal direction. With this construction, it is possible to reduce the dead spaces in the pumping chambers, reduce the longitudinal and transversal dimensions of the pump and facilitate size reduction design of the pump.

  • Patent number: 6766687
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for determining the level (F) of a medium (3) in a container (2) using a capacitive sensor (4). A voltage source which subjects the sensor (4) to a measuring frequency (fM) is provided, as is a measuring/evaluating circuit (6) which establishes the measured capacitance (CM), compares this to a predetermined capacitance value and provides the information concerning the level (F) of the medium (3) in the container (2). The aim of the invention is to increase the measuring sensitivity of a capacitive sensor (4) without increasing the sensitivity of the sensor to interfering signals. To this end, the measuring/evaluating circuit (6) has at least one inductance (L) which together with the measured capacitance (CM), forms a resonant circuit (7).

  • Patent number: 6745453
Abstract: The present invention provides a rim rolling method in which slotting can be correctly performed at an arbitrary position in the thickness direction of an outer peripheral face of a blank. A preforming roller die 7 is prepared in which a groove 8 is formed in an outer peripheral face 7a in the circumferential direction, and a groove forming blade portion 9 is protruded in the circumferential direction on an inner bottom portion of the groove 8. A preforming process is performed in which the groove 8 and the groove forming blade portion 9 of the preforming roller die 7 are pressed against an outer peripheral portion 10 of a disk-like metal blank 1, to form an outer peripheral groove 11 in the whole outer peripheral portion of the blank 1 by the groove forming blade portion 9.

  • Patent number: 6736807
Abstract: The instrument of the present invention irradiates a relatively large skin area evenly with laser beams. A plurality of semiconductor laser diodes are arranged to form two lines with the semiconductor laser diodes of one line staggered with those of the other line, and the semiconductor laser diodes of each line are so inclined that their laser beams may focus on a single line. With this arrangement the plurality of laser beams provide a linear distribution of narrow beam, and the scanning area on the skin can be expanded accordingly. The beauty treatment on the skin or the depilation treatment can be expedited significantly. Advantageously the focusing points of the laser beams are distributed at an increased density, and the irradiation strength averages everywhere to attain the even beauty treatment.

  • Patent number: 6734819
Abstract: The microwave measuring device, which preferably operates with microwave bursts, serves to produce a measured value (XH) representing the level of the contents of a vessel (200). It comprises a transceiver unit (2) for generating a level-dependent intermediate-frequency signal (ZF) by means of a transmit signal (S2) and a receive signal (E2), and a transducer element (1) which in operation couples waves (S1), particularly pulsed waves, into the vessel under control of the transmit signal (S2) and converts echo waves (E1) reflected from the contents (201) of the vessel into the receive signal (E2). The intermediate-frequency signal (ZF) is fed to a control unit (3) of the level measuring device where it is stored in the form of a sampling sequence (AF) in a volatile data memory (33). In this manner, both amplitude information and phase information is available for the level measurement. The device is thus capable of measuring level with high accuracy, particularly accurately to a millimeter, and very fast.

  • Patent number: 5269129
Abstract: A chain formed of links made of fiber-reinforced resin composite material. Each link has a terminal loop located at each axial end of a long strap. Loops, located at adjacent ends of successive links, are joined by relatively short connecting links that overlap bushings located within each of the loops. The bushings and connecting links are held in position at each lateral side of the links by pins and washers. A ring surrounds each link where the strap flares to form each terminal loop. The loops may be unitary or spaced laterally to receive within the space a unitary loop of an adjoining link aligned axially with the other loop. A pin located within the loops supports washers at each lateral side of the links to maintain the position of the links and to transfer load between the links.

  • Patent number: 4373169
Abstract: A wide-angle image generator of the closed-circuit television type primarily for a helicopter flight simulator, employs four vidicons, each receiving a portion of an image from a single optical system viewing a wall mounted terrain model. The optical system includes an objective lens mounted at the lower end of a yaw tube. The position of the axis of the objective lens relative to the axis of the tube as well as rotation and position of the tube relative to the terrain model are determined by movement of the simulator controls, thus varying the presentation on one display of monitor screens within the view of the pilot at the controls, and another display of monitor screens within the view of an observer. The number of monitors per display is equal to the number of the vidicons.

  • Patent number: 4349167
Abstract: A light-weight aircraft passenger seat, which includes a plurality of integrally mounted wire-bending energy attenuators, and which can be floor mounted to face either forward or backward. Four seat legs, pivotally connected between the seat and floor, extend upward at the same angle from the floor, which is determined by two energy attenuators also pivotally connected between the seat and the floor, and extending upward from the floor in an opposite direction from the seat legs. When facing forward, the seat is stroked forward and downward. When facing backward, the seat is stroked backward and downward. In either a forward or backward facing disposition, the free ends of the energy attenuations extend into the back of the seat. Also the seat is flexibly connected to the seat legs and energy attenuators, which, in turn are connected by swivels to the floor to provide seat articulation as the floor distorts during a crash.

  • Patent number: 4338050
Abstract: A method and tool for drilling holes in a composite of materials having different strength and elastic characteristics. The tool has a planar end surface inclined in two directions relative to the tool axes, and an axially-extending flute which define, with the periphery of the tool, a cutting single end point and adjacent cutting edges which are guided within the hole being formed by three axially-extending wearstrip segments of the tool periphery. The radius of the tool is gradually reduced from the final wearstrip to the side of the flute opposite the cutting single end point. The cutting end portion of the tool may be formed of a very hard carbide material. The method provides for simultaneous point and surface cutting of the composite. Point and surface cutting occur at the outer circumferential surface of the hole generally along a radius of the hole to be drilled. Cutting also occurs along a radius of the hole being generated.
