  • Patent number: 4872258
Abstract: A turret assembly is movable in X and Y and a turret of the assembly is rotatable to position a selected one of a plurality of spindles at a transfer station of the turret. The selected spindle is telescopic to pick a component from a supply point and to place the component at a placement point on a circuit board or the like. An assembly for squaring, centering, orienting, and/or testing a component being held by another spindle of the turret is actuated generally concurrently with extending of the selected spindle. Alternatively, the spindle at the transfer station may be retained in the retracted position during actuation of the squaring assembly. Much time is saved by loading components on the plurality of the spindles of the turret at one or more supply stations and then placing all of these components without the need for transferring back and forth between the supply and P.C. board.

  • Patent number: 4872394
Abstract: A bent axis type axial piston pump or motor wherein the cylinder block is rotatable in synchronizm with the torque plate about an axis inclined relative to the axis of rotation of the torque plate. The shaft of the torque plate passes through the inclined cylinder block without mutual mechanical interference and is supported by bearings at the opposite sides of the casing. The torque plate and the cylinder block are connected by a mechanism which ensures exact synchronization of rotation of the two members. A static pressure balance is established between the working fluid acting on the opposite sides of the torque plate, the cylinder block and the pistons, respectively. The angle of inclination of the cylinder block with respect to the shaft can be changed thereby to change the capacity of the pump or motor. The pump or motor of this invention may be provided in a tandem type.

  • Patent number: 4862987
Abstract: An all-wheel-drive off-highway heavy truck comprising a cab (1) and a platform (2) mounted on a chassis which is rigid about the vertical axis. This chassis is mounted on front and rear axle sets (4, 5), each comprising front and rear axles and four wheels (41, 43, 51, 53). The wheels of the front axle set (4) are steered and the front axles include constant velocity joints, the axles of the front set being otherwise similar to the axles of the rear set. The suspensions of the axle sets (4, 5) include leaf spring stacks connected between the front and rear axles of the relevant set at each side, and clamped in a central portion to a pivot axis (83) about which the axles can pivot. Reaction rods connect the axles with the pivot axis. Hydraulic telescopic shock absorbers are connected between the axles of the front set and the chassis.

  • Patent number: 4861336
Abstract: A puncture catheter for transjugular or transfemoral percutaneous introduction into the lower vena cava is described. The catheter is composed of an outer direction catheter (1) and an inner puncturing catheter (5) introduced into it. The end segment (2) of the direction catheter (1) may be bent at an angle by means of a pulling mechanism (4), and directed toward the wall of the vena cava (V1). The tip of the puncture catheter (5) serves to perforate the wall of the vena cava (V1) and to puncture the portal vein (VP) ventrally crossing the vena cava (VCI). This non-anatomical connection is stabilized by accessory parts, a so-called porto-caval shunt.

  • Patent number: 4860931
Abstract: A keg tap described is for domestic use, and in it an axially shiftable valve-opening rod (3) with a valve-opening element (4) is guided through an essentially cylindrical housing (1) enclosing a pressure space (2) and is inserted through a piston (8) which is arranged in the lower region of the housing (1) and which limits the pressure space (2) located here. The valve-opening rod (3) is at the same time a riser pipe and has a continuous liquid passage (7) which leads outwards from the valve-opening element (4) at one end and which, at the opposite end, merges into a liquid duct (17) cut out in a stirrup (15) arranged essentially at right angles to the liquid passage (7) and equipped with a shut-off valve (19) and with a consequently closable outflow (18). The piston (8) closing off the pressure space (2) is connected via piston rods (14) to a handle (5), by means of which the piston ( 8) is actuated independently of the valve-opening rod (3).

  • Patent number: 4847979
Abstract: The invention is directed to a method and apparatus for selectively and simultaneously drilling a plurality of holes in thin panels such as printed circuit boards, while providing for automatic changing of the drill bits, individually or plurally, as required. A tray of drill bits is driveable in X and a row of vacuum pickers are driveable in Y, so that the various bit locations of the tray are addressable by such X-Y positioning, and selectable vacuum pickers are extensible and retractable so as to pick and place the drill bits at various matrix locations of the tray. The vacuum pickers also are extensible and retractable through corresponding tray openings in order to deliver replacement bits to, and retrieve used bits from, a flipper assembly associated with each drilling module.

  • Patent number: 4846785
Abstract: An instrument of artificial insemination or embryo transfer by a transperitoneal and/or cervical route or for sampling follicular liquids in mammals especially horses, pigs, sheep, goats, deer and carnivores is of the type constituted by a syringe formed by a sheath in which slides in fluid-tight manner a piston movable in translation. The sheath is externally protected by a rigid cover and is immobilized in a manipulator sleeve comprising a rotary member adapted to actuate the piston. The anterior end of the sheath is fitted with a needle. The cover protecting the sheath is covered by and guides a palpator the length of which is greater than that of the cover but less than that of the sheath (including the needle). Thus the needle of the syringe is selectively covered or exposed in whole or in part by axial sliding movement of the cover.
