Abstract: An image processing device for processing image data includes: a gray level transforming processing unit which receives input, of image data, performs gray level transforming, and outputs image data having all of multiple color information by each pixel being configured of one of the multiple color information; the gray level transforming processing unit further including a first gray value computing unit for computing a first gray value according to the brightness of a pixel of interest which exists in a pixel location of interest; a second gray value computing unit for computing a second gray value by gray value transforming as to the first gray value; and pixel value gray level transforming unit for computing a pixel value subjected to gray level transforming of the pixel of interest, based on the first gray value, the second gray value, and the pixel value of the pixel of interest.
Abstract: A computer implemented method and system that generates a video playlist having recommended videos based on a user query object is disclosed. A user query object is used to search for a number of web pages. Summaries are generated for the returned web page search results. Valuable terms and phrases from those summaries may be extracted and used to search video storage sites based on the original user query. Playable videos returned from the video storage sites may be compared to the user query or to the extracted terms and phrases in order to rank the videos, and the most relevant videos may be returned. Those videos may be displayed to the user as a playlist in an Internet browser having an embedded video player.
Abstract: Solids injection lances for injecting solids into a metallurgical vessel are normally supplied with cooling water from a cooling water circuit through water supply lines and return lines. Supply lines are provided with spaced pairs of connectors and bypass valves, and return lines are provided with similar pairs of spaced connectors and bypass valves. Flexible hoses can be connected between the pairs of connectors to establish supply and return flows of cooling water which bypass segments of the main supply and return lines which can be isolated and removed to allow withdrawal and subsequent replacement of the lances.

Abstract: Endoscopic bipolar scissor blades are formed in a laminate assembly of an electrically conductive electrode, an electrically insulating material, and a metal shearing surface which is electrically insulated and physically spaced from the electrode by the insulating material which is disposed therebetween. In one embodiment, the electrode is a metal blade, while the insulating material is a ceramic which is fixed to the metal blade, and the metal shearing surface which also provides the cutting edge is of a metal material which is fixed to the ceramic. In a second embodiment, the insulating material is a molded ceramic blade, with the electrode and the metal shearing surface layer metalized or otherwise fixed to the ceramic blade. In a third embodiment, the electrode is metalized on a thin layer insulating material which is fixed onto a metallic blade. In a fourth embodiment, metallic shearing and electrode layers are laminated to opposite sides of a fiberglass material.
Abstract: A pressure tank having a simple structure to intermittently feed powder to a conveying pipe, and a method for determining the intervals for feeding the powder to the conveying pipe. The pressure tank includes a tank body used as a structure of a pressure vessel having a receiving port at its upper portion and a discharging port at its lower portion, a first check valve disposed just under the receiving port so that it can freely move up and down, and so that it can close the receiving port by its upward movement that is caused by means of compressed air, and a second check valve disposed just under the discharging port so that it can freely move up and down, and so that it can close the discharging port by its upward movement that is caused by means of compressed air.
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for identifying a relationship between multiple interrelated applications running in a mainframe environment. A repository is created to store information describing the multiple interrelated applications from the mainframe environment. A target application among the multiple interrelated applications is identified, and a frequency and a dependency relationship between the application and the multiple interrelated applications is determined. The relationship is displayed via a user interface. The relationship may be used to identify a cause of a failure in a mainframe environment.

At least one entity includes a data processing module configured to determine for each transport channel a first parameter (RMi) proportional to a rate matching ratio (RFi) and a second parameter representing a maximum physical bit rate (Ndata) and to transform for each of the transport channels a number of symbols before rate matching (Nk) into a number of symbols after rate matching (Nk+?Nk), where the number of symbols after rate matching (Nk+?Nk) is obtained approximately by multiplying the number of symbols before rate matching (Nk) by the rate matching ratio (RFi).
Abstract: A reinforced electrolyte membrane for a fuel cell which is reinforced by a porous membrane, characterized by containing void portions in a joining portion between the surface of the porous membrane and/or pore surface and the electrolyte for buffering swelling when water is contained. This reinforced electrolyte membrane for a fuel cell has improved dimensional stability even if the electrolyte swells.
Abstract: A nonvolatile memory device includes: a substrate; a stacked structure member including a plurality of dielectric films and a plurality of electrode films alternately stacked on the substrate and including a through-hole penetrating through the plurality of the dielectric films and the plurality of the electrode films in a stacking direction of the plurality of the dielectric films and the plurality of the electrode films; a semiconductor pillar provided in the through-hole; and a charge storage layer provided between the semiconductor pillar and each of the plurality of the electrode films. At least one of the dielectric films includes a film generating one of a compressive stress and a tensile stress, and at least one of the electrode films includes a film generating the other of the compressive stress and the tensile stress.
Abstract: A method of pressing an outer wall of polymer pipe is provided. The method includes extruding a layer of polymer onto a pipe to form an outer wall of pipe; conveying the pipe including the outer wall of pipe through a pressing apparatus having a pressing element configured to rotate about the pipe; and urging the pressing element against an exterior surface of the outer wall as the pressing element rotates about a pipe conveyed through the pressing apparatus. An apparatus for pressing an outer wall of polymer pipe is also provided.

In one embodiment, a method includes sending a request to at least a first advertisement supplier; receiving one or more advertisements from the at least first advertisement supplier; identifying a prioritizing parameter associated with each of the one or more advertisements; and dynamically ordering the one or more advertisements from the at least first advertisement supplier into two or more positions of a response based on the prioritizing parameter.

Abstract: An information searching apparatus stores, in a character-string accumulating unit, first character strings in correspondence with second character strings while classifying each of the second character strings according to an attribute thereof. The information searching apparatus further stores, in a storage unit, the attributes in correspondence with specified information each of which is specified based on at least one of the corresponding first character string and the containing document. The information searching apparatus obtains specified information based on at least one of a first character string and a document that contains the first character string and extracts, from the storage unit, the attributes. The information searching apparatus then extracts, from the character-string accumulating unit, one of the second character strings.
Abstract: It is made possible to provide a semiconductor device and a method for manufacturing the semiconductor device that have the highest possible permittivity and can be produced at low production costs. A method for manufacturing a semiconductor device, includes: forming an amorphous film containing (HfzZr1-z)xSi1-xO2-y (0.81?x?0.99, 0.04?y?0.25, 0?z?1) on a semiconductor substrate, the ranges of composition ratios x, y, and z being values measured by XPS; and transforming the amorphous film into an insulating film containing (HfzZr1-z)xSi1-xO2 as tetragonal crystals, by performing annealing at 750° C. or higher on the amorphous film in an atmosphere containing oxygen.
Abstract: Systems and methods consistent with the present invention encode a list so users of the list may make inquiries to the coded list without the entire content of the list being revealed to the users. Once each item in the list has been encoded by an encoder, a bit array with high and low values may be used to represent the items in the list. The bit array may be embodied in a validation system for allowing users to query the list to determine whether an inquiry item is on the list. The validation system determines which bits to check by executing the same coding process executed by the encoder. If all the bits are high, then the inquiry item is determined to be part of the list, if at least one of the bits is low, then the inquiry item is determined not to be part of the original list.

Abstract: There is provided a photosensitive resin composition for a solvent-developing or thermally-developing flexographic printing plate, the photosensitive resin composition comprising: (a) a block copolymer containing a polymer block having conjugated diene as a main component and a polymer block having a vinyl aromatic hydrocarbon as a main component; (b) a photopolymerizable monomer; (c) a photopolymerization initiator; and (d) an organosilicon compound. A photosensitive resin composition for printing in which the organosilicon compound is a silicone oil containing a specific group is preferable, and a photosensitive resin composition for printing in which the organosilicon compound is a silicone oil containing an amino group or an aryl group is most preferable.
