Abstract: The present invention provides a molding extrusion machine comprising a pair of delivery rolls arranged forward continuously with a die attached to the end of an extruder by which a molten resin material is extruded through the die toward a rolling part between the delivery rolls and further extruded through a pair of the delivery rolls, wherein gas-sealing molds in intimate contact with both sides at least at the top of the die at the side of the discharge opening are provided to close openings in both sides of the rolling part so that supporting parts in both sides of a pair of the delivery rolls are formed into an air-tightness keeping part by said gas-sealing molds.
Abstract: A cable management device includes a cable management channel having a cable rest slot for routing a cable into and out of the cable management channel and a mounting bracket coupled to the cable management channel for fastening the cable management channel to a surface, such as an equipment enclosure rail, and for moving the cable management channel and the cable between a first position and a second position. The cable management channel may be advantageously released from the mounting bracket for moving the cable management channel between the first position and the second position to service an area of the equipment enclosure normally covered by the cable management channel. Alternatively, the cable management channel may be rotated on the mounting bracket to move the cable management channel away from the area of the equipment enclosure normally covered by the cable management channel.
Abstract: A dynamic image is decorated effectively with a small of processing volume. As shown in FIGS. 6A and 6B, images A that form a dynamic image representing a spreading firework are sequentially created in order in time in which the images appear in the dynamic image. On the currently created image shown in FIG. 6A, an image obtained by enlarging a spark portion of the image preceding the current image by a predetermined number is drawn in such a manner that it looks semi-transparent to obtain the image as shown in FIG. 6B.
Abstract: An injection molded closure is provided for containers that can hold cold products or the like, such as dairy products. The closure is made with a thin wall construction of 0.020 inch or less to provide a lightweight, inexpensive closure. The preferred closure is made of polypropylene with flared skirt walls that are not toed-in. The closures are supported in the stack by radially inner and outer stacking surfaces. The skirt walls are spaced slightly apart, when the closures are stacked, for example, with a 0.002 inch air gap between the skirt walls when perfectly centered with the skirt walls aiding in self-centering of the closures within the stack. An air vent may be provided to allow escape of air between nested, adjacent closures.
Abstract: A radio frequency receiver includes an amplifier and a detector that produces a bias control signal indicating the level of the signal environment in which the receiver is currently operating. A bias generator sets the bias level of the amplifier according to the bias control signal, where the bias level tends to increase as the signal level increases. Further, the receiver, includes a first circuit adapted to receive a radio frequency input signal, the circuit having an adjustable bias level, a bias control having more than one level of control for generating a bias control signal based upon a base-band signal for controlling the first circuit and generating an output signal; and an alternative bypass switch across the first circuit so as to send a DC signal corresponding to the total power generated by said feedback means.

Abstract: A movable barrier operator having improved safety and energy efficiency features automatically detects line voltage frequency and uses that information to set a worklight shut-off time. The operator automatically detects the type of door (single panel or segmented) and uses that information to set a maximum speed of door travel. The operator moves the door with a linearly variable speed from start of travel to stop for smooth and quiet performance. The operator provides for full door closure by driving the door into the floor when the DOWN limit is reached and no auto-reverse condition has been detected. The operator provides for user selection of a minimum stop speed for easy starting and stopping of sticky or binding doors.

Abstract: A method of making a wire for a gate frame of a field emission display including the step of forming a gate wire of a gate frame of a field emission display, wherein the gate wire has a cross section shaped to produce an electric field between adjacent gate wires that is substantially uniform and substantially flat across a cathode sub-pixel region of an emitter line of the field emission display. In one embodiment, the electric field causes an electron emission that is substantially straight from the cathode sub-pixel portion of the emitter line.

Abstract: A method of reducing emissions in the exhaust gases of an internal combustion engine is disclosed. The engine includes at least one cylinder supplied with an air/fuel mixture when a crankshaft of the internal combustion engine rotates, at least one intake valve, at least one exhaust valve, control members for controlling the opening and closing of the intake and exhaust valves, and a piston reciprocating between a top dead-center position and a bottom dead-center position in the cylinder. The method includes supplying an air/fuel mixture with a lambda value greater than 1 to the cylinder, controlling the intake valve so that it opens after the piston has passed the top dead-center position, controlling the exhaust valve so that it opens before the piston has passed the bottom dead-center position, and controlling the exhaust valve so that it closes before the intake valve opens.

Abstract: Apparatus for stimulating neuromuscular tissue of the gastrointestinal tract and methods for installing the apparatus to the neuromuscular tissue. The pulse generator is provided with a switching matrix, and may stimulate the tissue in a time-varying manner by selecting pairs of electrodes and altering the polarities thereof while stimulating the tissue. In addition, a real-time clock allowing a trigger for on and off modes, the time clock could also allow for a trigger to change parameters. Such parameters that could be changed are pulse width, amplitude, duty cycle (amount of time of pulse and time between pulses, or series of pulses), frequency, polarity, choice of unipolar versus bi-polar, and electrode on-off. The electrical stimulation utilizes a plurality of electrodes connected to at least one organ in the gastrointestinal tract of a patient along a peristaltic flow path with each of the electrodes being connected at a different location along the peristaltic flow path.

Abstract: A compact, in-line valve assembly consists of a hollow valve body, a seat, and a first diaphragm assembly including a deflectable portion forming a first volume between the seat and the first diaphragm assembly. A second diaphragm is attached to the first diaphragm assembly such that a second volume is defined between the second diaphragm and the second opening. A third volume is formed between the first diaphragm assembly and the second diaphragm and is sealed from the first volume and the second volume. A process flows through the first diaphragm assembly between the first volume and the second volume. A low-leak rate, self-aligning head assembly including a stem and a head coupled are coupled to the first diaphragm assembly. A deflection of the deflectable portion and the second diaphragm provides movement to open and close the head from the valve seat.

Abstract: A method of and apparatus for evacuating a chamber, for example in vacuum glazing, that is enclosed in part by a glass wall that includes an evacuation port. An evacuating head is employed and is arranged to cover the port and a portion of the glass wall that surrounds the port. The evacuating head has a first cavity that communicates with the port and at least one further cavity that surrounds the first cavity. The first and further cavities are connected by conduits to respective vacuum pumps, which apply differential negative pressure to the first and further cavities, and the chamber is evacuated by way of the first cavity. Evacuation of the chamber may be effected whilst the glazing is subjected to high temperature out-gassing.

Abstract: A voice sample characterization front-end suitable for use in a distributed speech recognition context. A digitized voice sample 31 is split between a low frequency path 32 and a high frequency path 33. Both paths are used to determine spectral content suitable for use when determining speech recognition parameters (such as cepstral coefficients) that characterize the speech sample for recognition purposes. The low frequency path 32 has a thorough noise reduction capability. In one embodiment, the results of this noise reduction are used by the high frequency path 33 to aid in de-noising without requiring the same level of resource capacity as used by the low frequency path 32.

Abstract: A blade tensioner is configured with a blade shoe having a chain sliding face, several plate-spring-like blade springs stacked on the reverse side of chain sliding face of the blade shoe in order to apply a spring force to the blade shoe, and spacer members provided between respective adjoining blade springs and brought in contact with corresponding blade springs at least at two points separated from each other by a fixed distance. In such case, the blade springs contact the spacer members at a fixed span. Accordingly, the damping factor of the overall blade spring or system is constant, so that the damping performance of the blade tensioner can be stabilized.
