Abstract: An ink jet printing apparatus and an ink jet printing method are provided in which information about an ink amount ejected on each of unit areas into which a preceding print medium is divided and information about a size of a following print medium are acquired. A delay time for delaying a printing operation for the following print medium is set based on the information about the ink amount ejected on unit areas which are decided among the divided unit areas according to the information about the size of the following print medium.

Abstract: A method of text extraction in color compound documents is described. The method connects similarly colored pixels of an image of a color compound document into connected components (CCs); classifies each CC as either text or non-text; refines the text CC classification for each text CC using global color context statistics; groups text CCs into text blocks; recovers misclassified non-text CCs into a nearby text block; and removes extraneous CCs from each text block using local color context statistics to thereby provide the extracted text in the text blocks. Also described is a method of locating graphics objects in a color compound document image.

Image data is divided in a sub-scanning direction into a first region where color shift hardly occurs and a second region where color shift easily occurs. There are detected a first color line drawing extending in a main-scanning direction in the first region, a second color line drawing extending in the main-scanning direction and having a width larger than that of the first color line drawing in the second region, and a third color line drawing extending in the sub-scanning direction in the image data. Abstract: To provide a phase grating capable of acquiring, in photographing of an X-ray phase contrast image by use of X-ray with two wavelengths, an X-ray phase contrast image by a phase grating in the same size as when a single wavelength is used, provided is a phase grating used when an X-ray is directed to take an X-ray phase contrast image, the phase grating including a periodic structure for generating a phase difference between an X-ray transmitted through the structure and an X-ray not transmitted through the structure. The fixing member has a surface layer to come into contact with toner, the surface layer has a sea-island structure in which the fluororubber constitutes a sea phase and a silicone compound having a crosslinked structure constitutes an island phase, and in a stress-strain curve of the surface layer, the tangential elastic modulus, the slope of the curve, increases as the strain increases, in the strain range of 0.25 to 0.8.
Abstract: This invention relates to certain unsaturated fatty acid derivatives of therapeutically active 1,3-dioxolane nucleoside analogues and to pharmaceutical formulations containing them. The said derivatives fall within formula (I).
