  • Patent number: 6128702
Abstract: An integrated processor/memory device comprising a main memory, a CPU, a victim cache, and a primary cache. The main memory comprises main memory banks. The victim cache stores victim cache sub-lines of words. Each of the victim cache sub-lines has a corresponding memory location in the main memory. When the CPU issues an address in the address space of the main memory, the victim cache determines whether a victim cache hit or miss has occurred in the victim cache. And, when a victim cache miss occurs, the victim cache replaces a selected victim cache sub-line of the victim cache sub-lines in the victim cache with a new victim cache sub-line. The primary cache comprises primary cache banks. Each of the primary cache banks stores one or more cache lines of words. Each cache line has a corresponding memory location in the corresponding main memory bank.

  • Patent number: 5986931
Abstract: P channel EEPROM cells are designed for integration into arrays written with single polarity signals developed from small, low power charge pumps. These cells reduce the additional masking steps that must be added to a CMOS logic process for EEPROM to only one additional step. The novel cells of this invention enable the array to function with a V.sub.PP about 2 V less than that required by an N channel EEPROM cell, with similar writing speed and tunnel oxide thickness.

  • Patent number: 5979340
Abstract: A robotic mechanism which can be attached to a furnace hopper and includes a frame which supports a pole insertion mechanism for inserting a pole into a furnace hopper. The pole insertion mechanism is supported from the Fame by a gimbal and moves the pole axially. Hydraulic actuators rotate the pole insertion mechanism about the gimbal. A control system is associated with the mechanism and enables an operator to position the end of the pole within the hopper to remove clinkers.

  • Patent number: 5981896
Abstract: An apparatus for underwater welding has a housing and a diverter. The diverter is inside the housing and has an outer sheath and an inner sheath. A gap between the housing and diverter passes a screening fluid to form an outer screening jet that prevents water from flowing into a weld site near the electrode. The inner sheath forms a pair of channels in the inner diverter. One channel passes a shielding fluid that shields the weld site. The other channel forms an exhaust line for venting the weld site during welding.

  • Patent number: 5826404
Abstract: System and method for packing loose fill materials in bags to form cushions for use in protecting articles in shipping cartons. The bags are produced from a length of flexible plastic tubing which is folded and gathered to form a coil which is disposed about the outlet of a loose fill dispenser. A section of the tubing is pulled from the coil, and its lower end is closed to form a bag which is then filled with loose fill material dispensed through the outlet. Another section of tubing is then pulled from the coil, and the tubing is drawn together to close the upper end of the first section and the lower end of the second section. The closed ends are secured with tape, and the tubing is severed to separate the first section from the second. The cushions thus formed are placed in the shipping cartons with the articles, and in some embodiments are compressed and reexpanded in conformance with the contour of the articles.

  • Patent number: 5819680
Abstract: Steerable towcraft having a buoyant body upon which a person can ride, a towline attached to body and adapted for connection to the pulling vessel, a fin on the under side of the body for guiding the body through water, and a steering line connected to the towline at a point spaced from the body. By pulling on the steering line, a person riding on the body can change the angle of the fin relative to the towline, and thereby control the direction in which the towcraft is moving.
