Abstract: A multilayer coating film is provided on one side of a transparent or semitransparent glass plate to afford a golden appearance to the coated glass plate at least when viewed from the uncoated side. Essentially the multilayer coating film is made up of a TiN layer adjacent to the glass plate surface and either a Ti layer or a Cr layer which overlies the TiN layer, and the coating film is formed such that the transmittance of the coated glass plate for visible light becomes not more than 40%. Optionally, the Ti or Cr layer is overlaid with either a TiO.sub.2 film or a Cr.sub.2 O.sub.3 film. Also optionally, either a TiO.sub.2 film or a Cr.sub.2 O.sub.3 film is interposed between the TiN layer and the glass plate surface. Each layer of the multilayer coating film can be formed by sputter deposition using a relatively simple method, an the multilayer coating has good durability.

Abstract: A method and a mobile unit for barking and/or limbing and chipping as a continuous operation. A log is given a linear displacement movement by means of a feed unit (6) including two in relation to each other displaceable feed rollers in direction towards a chipper (4), and as first step preceding the feed rollers, existing branches are removed by a limbing unit (7) including at least two knife-acting means, displacable in relation to each other in a substantially crosswisely extending plane in relation to the longitudinal and displacement direction for the log, pressed against the peripheral surface of same. During the linear feeding movement of the log, existing branches are sheared or cut off.
Abstract: An angular rate sensor comprises a pair of driven tines and a pair of output tines connected to the driven tines by a stem portion. A detection circuit including a set of output electrodes, associated with each output tines, generates a detection signal related to angular rate. A feedback circuit, including a further set of electrodes associated with each driven tine; utilizes a phase quadrature component of the detection signal so as to drive the driven tines towards a condition of torsional balance.

Abstract: This invention relates to DAT (Digital Audio Tape) equipment. On the magnetic tape, a multiple signal comprising a pulse code modulated sound data of a fixed period obtained by applying pulse code modulation to an audio signal, subcodes time-divisionally multiplexed before and after the pulse code modulated sound data by predetermined time periods, respectively, and a track finding signal is recorded. This recorded signal is allocated onto tracks formed in succession on the magnetic tape by the rotary head and is recorded in a first mode, or in a second mode where its data capacity per unit time is nearly one half of that in the first mode, and a revolving speed of the rotary head and a magnetic tape running speed are nearly one half of those in the first mode. ATF (Automatic Track Finding) signals are included in the recorded signal and are used for tracking control.

Abstract: A method of recording the travel locus data for an on-board navigation system for motor vehicles stores, at the time of storing data of each location of roads in maps in numberical form, index numbers, which are allotted in sequence to particular locations on the road for each road, together with map numbers each of which is allotted to each map and path numbers each of which is allotted to each road within each map. When the vehicle is running, the map number and the path number are monitored while the present location of the the vehicle is being recognized, and a previous map number, a previous path number and a previous index number are memorized if the present map number is different from the previous map number or the present path number is different from the previous path number. Distinctive point numbers which are allotted to particular locations on the road are also used instead of the path numbers and index numbers. Thus, the amount of data in memorizing the travel locus data is considerably reduced.
