Abstract: A multimagazine disc player includes an array of magazines removably stored therein each for holding a plurality of discs, and a playback means movable and positionable in alignment with one of the magazines at a time for playing back a selected one of the discs contained in the magazine. The discs stored in the magazines can selectively be played back automatically, and can also easily be replaced with other discs not stored in the disc player. The multimagazine disc player also has a magazine presence/absence detecting means for detecting whether each magazine is loaded or not, so that a wasteful time which would otherwise be consumed by moving the playback means to a position where no magazine is loaded can be eliminated.
Abstract: An interference suppressor comprises an amplitude limiter (2) to which a received signal is coupled. The limiter (2) is effective, when a dominant interfering signal (f1) is present together with a wanted signal (f1), to further increase the amplitude difference between interfering and wanted signals.A signal combiner (12) is fed with the received signal and also with a signal derived from the limiter (2) via a controlled attenuator (9) and which signal is arranged as to be in phase opposition to the received signal. A phase sensitive detector (8) is responsive to the output signal from the suppressor, which is provided by the signal combiner (12), and to the signal derived from the limiter (2) for providing a control signal for the attenuator (9). The control signal is effective to reduce the amplitude of the interfering signal present in the output signal.

Abstract: A component for cladding apertures in the fuselage of an aircraft is to be of lighter weight and more corrosion resistant as compared with known claddings. The component is manufactured of carbon fibre reinforced curable synthetic resin and comprises a base layer (2) onto which U-profiles (4, 4') and L-profiles (5, 5') are placed in spaced apart interrelationship, which during the manufacture are held in place by a grid (14) comprising angular bridge members. A vacuum foil 7 is applied over this assembly and is adhesively bonded along the edges of the base layer (2') to the supporting surface (1). The space between the vacuum foil (7) and the supporting surface (1) is evacuated and curing proceeds at an elevated temperature and pressure. After complete curing the vacuum foils (7) and the grid (14) are removed.

Abstract: A down hole jet pump for production of fluid from a well with the jet pump being powered from a pressure source at the surface and discharging production fluid through production tubing to the surface. The down hole jet pump of this invention is retrievable by reverse flow of fluid down the production tubing to move the jet pump upwardly through the power fluid tubing to the surface. The components of the jet pump are removable and adjustable in the field without the use of special tools thereby enabling the pump to be adjusted to provide optimum operating conditions for each installation and enable interchange and replacement of parts.
Abstract: There is provided a method and device for depilating hair from various members of the human body, especially arms and legs. The device is based on a rotating head driven by suitable means, which head is provided with an abrasive surface. The method of depilating hair comprises contacting the area of the skin from which hair is to be removed with such rotating surface. The abrasive used is a fine grain one so as to minimize irritation of sensitive human skin.
Abstract: A digital signal recording and playback apparatus having a rotary heads mounted on a rotary drum capable of recording/reproducing a digital signal onto/from a magnetic tape at a tape speed which is N times as much as the standard speed while conforming to the standard track angle and length. The number of the rotary heads are increased from the standard two heads whereas the drum speed is made one half of N times standard speed and the drum diameter is made slightly larger from the standard so that the relative speed between the running tape and the rotating heads becomes equal to the standard in the double tape speed mode, and becomes twice that in the quadruple tape speed mode.
Abstract: This invention is a fluid injection spray system for use with wind machine in order to protect orchard crops from heat or frost and to dispense agricultural chemicals. In one embodiment fluid is dispensed from nozzles on risers which are arrayed about the wind machine tower. The flow of fluid to the risers is sequentially controlled. In another embodiment, fluid is dispensed from nozzles mounted on conduits on a rotating gear box. Fluid is provided from the tower via a rotating valve.

Abstract: A supporting device includes a vertical tubular support apparatus, a connecting members which is engaged with the vertical tubular support apparatus and has a plurality of lug members, a plurality of engaging members each of which is pivotally mounted to one of the lug members, a plurality of resilient apparatuses each of which is disposed in one of the engaging members and has a strap, and a plurality of legs each of which is mounted to one of the engaging members. A curved end of the strap abuts a positioning pin of the engaging member and urges it to selectively engage one of a plurality of angularly spaced notches of the lug member, so the angle of each of the legs relative to the connecting member can be adjusted for convenience of use, moving, carrying and storage, or for use on an uneven surface.

The foot rest is sustained in sleeve-rod arrangement on the base frame.
Abstract: A cap which can be attached to a roof vent pipe to form a closure for the roof vent pipe after the usual ventilating device attached to the roof vent pipe has been removed thereby trapping hot air in the attic area of a home or other building. The roof vent cap is of one-piece unitary construction secured in place by anchoring screws which may be the same screws that secure the roof ventilator in place with the cap including three depending cylindrical flanges of different lengths which can be mounted on different diameter roof vent pipes thereby rendering the cap universal in use. The variation in length enables access to anchor screws on each of the flanges.
Abstract: A connector for connecting implements on tools such as digging devices to a boom or the like comprises a body (1, 3) having first connection elements (8, 9) enabling the body to be mounted on a carrying device, second connection elements for engaging an implement with the (1,3) in the form of spaced apart first and second recesses (12, 11) on the body. The respective connection elements are mutually oriented for mounting the connector on the carrying device with the first recess (12) opening substantially downwardly and the second recess (11) opening in a direction substantially at right angles to the direction of opening of the first recess (12). At least the first recess (12) having an entrance and being substantially closeable by a closure member (13). A fluid pressure operated piston (34, 21) and cylinder (30, 22) assembly moves the closure member (13) toward or away from a position wherein the closure member substantially covers the entrance to the first recess.
Abstract: Continuous flat unidirectional flat ribbons, which have been precut from an impregnated fiber reinforced-matrix composite tape so as to have a substantially greater width than thickness, are interlaced in over-and-under relationship in 0 degree and 90 degree directions into the form of a continuous, multi-directional seamless tube. The tube may be cut into tubular sections, which then are subjected to temporary heat and pressure so that the matrix fuses the interlaced ribbons to form an integral tube. The elongated seamless tube also may be cut into planar sections and used to form integral members of planar or contoured construction. The integral members may be formed of a single layer of the interlaced material, or of laminated construction form multiple layers of the interlaced material, with the ribbons of each layer either extending parallel, at an angle other than 0/90 degrees, aligned, or offset, with respect to the ribbons in the other layer(s).
