  • Patent number: 7455718
Abstract: The present invention relates generally to zeolites having a silica/alumina ratio of less than or equal to 10 (Si/Al?10) that are exchanged with Ag+ and thermally treated in such a way to favor adsorption over alternative catalytic and chemically reactive functionalities. The adsorbents of the present invention and the method of producing such adsorbents maximize the working adsorption capacity through ?-complexation. Applications for such adsorbents include any process in which contaminants from gas streams can form ?-complexes with the Ag in the zeolite, particularly the removal of CO, ethylene, propylene and the like from air and CO/H2 from air in prepurifier adsorbers in the production of ultra high purity (UHP) N2.

  • Patent number: 7396387
Abstract: The present invention generally relates to large capacity (e.g., greater than 350 tons/day O2) vacuum pressure adsorption (VPSA) systems and processes that employ a single train including four beds, at least one feed compressor feeding two beds simultaneously at any given instant in time, and a single vacuum pump. The compressor(s) and the vacuum pump can be utilized 100% of the time. Use of product quality gas for purging is avoided, with about 10-20% improvement in O2 productivity and 5-10% reduction in capital cost expected.

  • Patent number: 7264651
Abstract: For PSA or TSA prepurifiers, the temperature rise on adsorption is particularly troublesome when the temperature rise reaches the end of the bed at the end of the adsorption step. This results in an increase in the CO2 and N2O concentration at the end of the cycle. Addition of a regenerator in the middle of the adsorption layer will reduce the temperature rise at the end of the bed and thus enhance the performance of the bed.

  • Patent number: 7137257
Abstract: A power augmentation method for a gas turbine in which water is injected into one or more stages of an auxiliary compressor to produce a vapor containing gas stream. The vapor containing gas stream is at least in part introduced into combustors of the gas turbine for power augmentation. Part of the vapor containing compressed gas stream can be introduced into a reactor to generate a hydrogen containing synthesis gas to support lower flame temperatures occurring within the combustors of the gas turbine due to the introduction of the vapor containing gas stream. In such manner, NOx emissions of the gas turbine can be reduced. Furthermore, the power augmentation method can be conducted in conjunction with an integrated gasification combined cycle.
