  • Patent number: 7647056
Abstract: The present invention comprises a method and system for dispatching a plurality of mobile service providers among a plurality of users (stationary) based on proximity of a user to a particular mobile service provider. One or more representations of proximity will be presented to a user on a map (radar screen) by the system and the system computes offers based on proximity.

  • Patent number: 7542991
Abstract: A computer-based method and apparatus for identifying hazardous materials based on observable physical properties and signs and systems of exposure to the hazardous materials. The observable physical properties are obtained by preprocessing plain language data to obtain normalized descriptors and modifiers pertaining to a plurality of properties and signs and symptoms. The normalized descriptors and signs and symptoms are presented to a user in lists for comparison with a sample in the field. Once a material is identified, information can be obtained from the apparatus which is necessary for response to an incident involving the hazardous material. The preferred embodiments of the invention are particularly useful to responders to a hazardous waste incident.

  • Patent number: 7377666
Abstract: An illuminated ear protector, comprising a pair of ear covers, each ear cover comprising a translucent rigid shell having an open end and a closed end, a circuit board attached within the rigid shell comprising at least one battery connector thereon, at least one and preferably two light emitting diode lights electrically connected to the circuit board, a switch connected to the circuit board controlling the at least one light emitting diode light, a first reflector located at the open end and oriented such that substantially all light from the at least one light emitting diode light is directed towards the closed end, a plate attached to the open end which supports the reflector, a peripheral sealing ring for contacting one of the ears and cushioning the ear cover there against which is attached to an opposite side of the plate from the reflector, and a headband attached to each of the ear covers which extends over the head of the user and secures each of the ear covers over one of the ears of the user.

  • Patent number: 7328670
Abstract: A dispenser delivers a pourable material onto the outside of a receiving vessel, for example, a flavorant like granular salt or sugar onto the rim of a beer bottle or margarita glass, or a glue, sealant, or lubricant onto the external threads of a chemical bottle. An external casing containing the pourable material has an opening at the bottom that is normally sealed by a retractable encloser held in place by a closer spring inside the casing. To dispense pourable material, the bottom of the encloser is pressed against the rim of the receiving vessel, lifting the encloser from its normally-closed position and opening an annular path through which the material is released onto the outside of the rim, but not into the interior, of the receiving vessel.

  • Patent number: 7268689
Abstract: The invention relates generally to the field of warning signs intended to alert one of presence of an animal and intruder deterrence. More specifically, the invention integrates an adjustable motion detector, a warning sign, a light source aimed at the warning sign, an audio announcement and a replica of an animal or other image with another light source for its illumination. The motion detector senses the presence of a person and sends an activation signals to the audio and light sources. The first light source illuminates the warning sign, while the second light source illuminates the replica of an animal or other warning image, adding a sense of a realistic warning to a casual passer-by and a threat to the intruder.

  • Patent number: 7048959
Abstract: The invention pertains to a delivery system for delivery of at least one physiologically active ingredient in a pleasant and palatable manner. One preferred embodiment is a beverage mix comprising a plurality of morsels, each morsel comprising a gelatinous core, a plurality of effervescent zones, at least one barrier zones, wherein the at least one barrier zone temporarily protects the plurality of effervescent zones. When a beverage is immersed in water, the barrier zone prevents water reaching the effervescent zone. The at least one barrier zone deteriorates exposing the effervescent zones in sequence. The effervescent zones dissolve and carbon dioxide gas is released. Gas bubbles coat the morsel and it rises. When the gas bubbles disengage from the morsel, the morsel falls. The process repeats until all of the effervescent zones are exposed. The drink comprising gelatinous cores in carbonated water is ready for consumption.
