  • Patent number: 4116147
Abstract: Mounting means for a sewing machine, or a similar machine for joining together pieces of fabric, having a horizontal work surface by which the machine is supported with capacity for rotation about a vertical axis. The machine is mounted within an aperture formed in the horizontal surface, and supported by bearings. A vertical shaft, located below the work surface, is connected to the machine and provided with a disc, whereby the machine is rotatable from beneath the work surface. Shelves and compartments are located beneath the work surface for storage of materials and for housing the control circuitry for the machine. The invention eliminates the customary stand on which such machines are mounted, and the many disadvantages attendant thereto.

  • Patent number: 4104860
Abstract: A high speed dynamic CMOS flip-flop system having a master and a slave section each of which have a different total propagation delay. Asymmetrical clock signals are applied to the master and slave sections with one cycle portion of each clock signal turning on the master section and the other cycle turning on the slave section. Each cycle portion has a time duration substantially equal to the total propagation delay of its respective master and slave section. In this manner, the duty cycle of the clock signal cycle is matched to the ratio of the propagation delays of the master and slave sections.

  • Patent number: 4083020
Abstract: A voltage controlled oscillator whose frequency is a function of an input voltage having a first and a second pair of switching devices coupled respectively to first and second terminals of a capacitor. The oscillator has a first leg coupled from the first capacitor terminal through first inverter means, a first NOR device and third inverter means back to the first pair of switching devices and the first capacitor terminal. The second leg is coupled from the second capacitor terminal through second inverter means, a second NOR device, fourth inverter means back to the second pair of switching devices and the second capacitor terminal. The first and second NOR devices are directly cross-connected. The first and second legs each have the same number of propagation delays and during state transition, both terminals of the capacitor are coupled to the reference potential for a brief instant of time.

  • Patent number: 4082125
Abstract: A device for preventing water pollution is provided, to collect and retain liquid fuel overflow from fuel tanks for boats and similar vessels. The device is designed to collect fuel discharged from the air vent of an enclosed fuel storage tank, when the tank is refilled. A support ring is affixed to the external surface of the hull of the boat, telescopically relative to the air vent protruding threfrom. A hollow receptacle is adapted to be mounted on the support ring, for collecting fuel discharged from the vent. A retainer sustains the receptacle on the support, and locking means detachably secures the retainer to the support, while the receptacle is collecting fuel discharged or spilled from the air vent.

  • Patent number: 4080226
Abstract: A niobium containing alloy amterial is initially annealed in a hydrogen atmosphere at a temperature approximating 700.degree. C. The alloy material is then immersed in an aqueous solution of approximately between 1.0%-20.0% by weight of sodium hydroxide being maintained at a temperature of at least 70.degree. C. Immersion of the alloy material in the aqueous solution removes niobium oxide which is formed in the surface portion of the alloy material during the annealing step. After removal of the alloy material from the aqueous solution, the alloy material is plated on its surface with an electric contact material.

  • Patent number: 4077356
Abstract: An automatic paint machine for painting cylindrically contoured objects. The paint machine includes a pair of housing members which are movable in a longitudinal direction for positionally mounting the cylindrical objects in a predetermined location. A cylindrical object to be painted is mounted in rotational displacement with respect to a multiplicity of rollers which extend from each of the housing members. Rotation of the rollers results in a corresponding counterrotation of the cylindrical object being painted. A series of spray nozzles are mounted on the machine to provide a spray of paint unto the surface of the object. A plurality of shield members are positioned adjacent a segmental portion of an outer surface of the object being painted. The shields intersect the path of paint being sprayed from particular spray nozzles to divide the object surface into zones and producing a sharp delineation of color between one zone and another.

  • Patent number: 4078253
Abstract: Pattern information for production of a Jacquard pattern by a knitting or a weaving machine is automatically and quickly obtained. A pattern drawn on a sheet by a designer is converted to an analog type electrical signal by a television camera, and said analog signal is converted to a digital signal according to each color of each picture element. Said digital signal is stored in a digital memory. After the edition of said digital signal in the memory, the digital signal which defines the color of each picture element is applied to a knitting or a weaving machine.

  • Patent number: 4061904
Abstract: A variable analog function generator which is independent of an external computer during the time that it generates at least one predetermined output function of at least one input variable. The output function is expressed in terms of hybrid variables each having an analog portion and a digital portion. The function generator has a first dedicated memory which is loaded during set up time with data related to breakpoints defining the input variable. A second dedicated memory is loaded during set up time with tables of values defining the digital portion. During function generation, the analog portions are generated in response to (1) the input variable and (2) the data related to the breakpoints which is accessed in parallel from the first dedicated memory. The output function is generated in response to (1) the analog portions and (2) the tables of values accessed from the second dedicated memory.
