  • Patent number: 5688096
Abstract: The present invention relates to a tray for carrying a plurality of pallets loaded with several concrete blocks. The tray is a rectangular frame defining an upper surface, front and rear ends and upwardly-projecting flanges at both front and rear ends. The tray is adapted to receive the loaded pallets on its upper surface between the flanges. The invention further relates to a system adapted to carry the loaded tray through a block curing kiln. The kiln is composed of a plurality of longitudinal cells, as is already known, and the pallet-loaded trays are inserted in a consecutive linear abutment fashion in the cells. The relatively high flanges of each tray thus abut on one another, which prevents the overlapping of the trays, and thus prevents the damaging in this way of the concrete blocks.

  • Patent number: 5664730
Abstract: The invention discloses a humidifying device which consists in a thermally conductive casing which is adapted and correctly dimensioned to fit over a conventional electrical radiator without preventing it from heating the ambiant air simultaneously. The casing is destined to be at least partially filled with water, and upon the radiator generating heat, the water temperature will gradually increase and water will evaporate into the ambiant air through outlets in the top of the casing due to the heat being conducted through the radiator and casing to the water. The water vapor outflow rate can be selectively adjusted by means of a pivotable heat deflector or alternately by adjusting the distance between the radiator and the casing. A sponge member filled with bactericide is inserted into the casing and is submerged in water.

  • Patent number: 5642883
Abstract: This jig-saw puzzle holder comprises two co-extensive work panels hinged together at their inner edges to take a closed folded position and an open coplanar position with their inner edges forming a smooth joint. A liner sheet covers and is secured to the panels and serves as a work surface upon which puzzle pieces can be assembled. To each panel is associated a generally co-extensive flexible cover sheet to cover puzzle pieces on the liner sheet. The liner and cover sheets are hook-and-loop fastener fabric so that the cover sheets can adhere to the liner sheet to surround the partially assembled puzzle pieces and thus prevent shifting of these pieces. When the pieces are being assembled, the cover sheet is rolled up and retained in an out-of-the-way position. Each panel is provided with a drawer to store individual puzzle pieces. Each panel is used to assemble half of the completed puzzle and the two halves are assembled across the smooth joint of the two open coplanar panels.

  • Patent number: 5620219
Abstract: The protective fence of the invention comprises a first and a second arms that are pivoted at the opposite ends of a frame member that is placed in lieu of the bumper of a school bus. When children are entering or exiting the school bus, the bus driver can activate the arms that alternately pivot into an outwardly-projecting extended position. The arms are linked at their outer ends by a foldable band that is stretched between the two arms. The area directly in front of the school bus hood is circumscribed by the arms and the foldable band, and is thus not readily accessible by any of the children. Consequently, it is much less likely that a child will stand in this area in front of the school bus hood when the bus driver drives off, and disastrous accidents can be avoided.
