Abstract: A differential displacement electromagnetic device providing motion over a support frame. Permanent electromagnets are fixedly mounted to a carriage and angularly oriented relative to the support frame lengthwise axis. Upright anchor columns project transversely from the support frame, and are interconnected by tension springs. A movable block is slidingly carried over both rails including a pair of opposite side spring loaded arms, carrying floating electromagnets. A bracket mount carries two spaced pivotal axles, and pivotally mounted rocker arms carrying corresponding permanent magnet. The rocker arms are sized in such a way as to be pivotably movable between a first limit position, where the permanent magnets abut against the angularly oriented electromagnets, and a second limit position, where the permanent magnets abut against the floating electromagnets.

Abstract: The worktable comprises a work platform and a multidirectional coupling for operatively attaching the work platform to an external structure. The multidirectional coupling comprises a first linear assembly comprising a first translation member and a second translation member engaging the first translation member and linearly movable relative to and along the first translation member between first and second limit positions and according to a first translation axis. The multidirectional coupling also includes a second linear assembly comprising a third translation member and a fourth translation member engaging the third translation member and linearly movable relative to and along the third translation member between third and fourth limit positions and according to a second translation axis that is transversal to the first translation axis.

Abstract: An apparatus and method allowing an optimized illumination in a light profile microscope by excitation of a sample with an elliptically collimated beam. The beam, which is typically supplied by a laser is collimated with unequal beam waist radii (and Rayleigh ranges) along major and minor axes orthogonal to a propagation direction, and approximates a plane sheet of illumination. The plane sheet of illumination is aligned with a thinnest width dimension thereof along the optic axis of the microscope objective, and with a center thereof at the object plane of the objective. Excitation light in a test sample is thereby confined to within a narrow thickness of the object plane of the objective lens, which minimizes out-of focus light in the image. The major axis width of the plane illumination sheet is typically a factor of ten or more greater than the minimum width, allowing a large area of the test sample to be illuminated and imaged.

Abstract: A cargo restraint system is provided, comprising a floor structure defining a number of anchorage openings made thereon with each anchorage opening defining a maximum width. The cargo restraint system also comprises at least one elbowed fastener having an elongated head portion defining a length greater than the anchorage opening maximum width and a maximal cross-sectional width smaller than the anchorage opening maximum width, the elbowed fastener also defining a body portion connected transversely to the head portion; wherein the head portion of the elbowed fastener can be inserted into one of the anchorage openings of the floor structure and the body portion can extend from this anchorage opening and project away from the floor structure. Moreover, at least one cargo restraint member is provided in the cargo restraint system, for restraining movement of a cargo item about the floor structure.

Abstract: The invention relates to an anchor device, for stabilizing an excavation wall and to be inserted into a hole, bored in an excavation wall. Said anchor device comprises a rigid elongated rod which defines a distal end, to be inserted into the bored hole and a proximal end, opposed to the distal end, a support member, mounted on the rod in the vicinity of the proximal end thereof and provided for resting against an outer surface of the wall of rock and an anchor head, mounted on the rod and to be inserted into the hole, bored in the excavation wall. Said anchor head comprises a flexible expandable member, mounted on the rod, made of plastic and capable of radially expanding and stretching and an activating member, movably mounted on the rod, said activating member being capable of moving relative to the rigid rod and to the expandable member and capable of contacting the same in order to exert a pressure.

Abstract: The nailer comprises a main body, an elongated nail ejection channel in the main body for receiving a nail to be ejected and including a nail outlet leading out of the main body, and a plunger carried within and movable along the nail ejection channel. The nailer also includes an actuator capable of moving the plunger along an ejection axis in the nail ejection channel for selectively ejecting the nail out through the nail outlet. A first guide member is carried by and movable relative to the main body, for engaging a first reference surface outboard of the nailer, and a first adjuster mechanism capable of adjusting the position of the first guide member relative to the main body is also provided. The position of the nail ejection channel can be adjusted relative to the first reference surface with the first adjuster mechanism when the nailer engages the first reference surface with the first guide member.

Abstract: A nailing device used for securing hardwood flooring planks to a subfloor using arcuate fasteners. The nailing device comprises a main body in turn defining a fastener discharge opening. The nailing device also comprises an arcuate fastener ejection channel made in the main body and destined to accommodate an arcuate fastener, the arcuate fastener ejection channel opening outwardly of the nailing device at the fastener discharge opening. The nailing device further comprises an arcuate plunger at least partially nested in the arcuate fastener ejection channel and movable along the arcuate fastener ejection channel between first and second limit positions. Moreover, the nailing device comprises a plunger actuator nested in the main body and connected to the arcuate plunger, which can be selectively activated for moving the arcuate plunger between its first and second limit positions.

Abstract: A method of attachment of a ski to a snowmobile, the snowmobile capable of displacement about a gliding surface. The method comprises the step of providing the snowmobile with at least one steering link defining a push axis. It also comprises the step of providing a snowmobile ski having a ski body defining an undersurface, a snowmobile mounting member connected to the ski body, and at least one blade member attached to the ski body and arranged about the ski body undersurface, the blade member defining a leading end portion and a trailing end portion. The method finally comprises the step of attaching the snowmobile mounting member to the steering link such that the push axis substantially registers with the leading end portion of the blade member when the snowmobile glides on the gliding surface, thus enhancing adherence of the ski to the gliding surface.

Abstract: A nailer for driving a fastener into a workpiece and comprising a main body defining a fastener ejection channel. A plunger is movably carried by the main body and defines a first end for receiving forceful mallet blows and a second end for engaging the fastener, the plunger also comprising a series of teeth and grooves and defining a longitudinal cavity extending between the first and second ends, the plunger being movable relative to the main body between a first limit position in which the plunger second end clears the fastener ejection channel, and a second limit position in which the plunger second end engages the fastener ejection channel. A stem member is carried by the nailer main body and penetrates the plunger longitudinal cavity, the stem member carrying a spring-loaded pawl capable of unidirectional releasable interlocking engagement with the teeth and grooves of the plunger. A plunger biasing member continuously biases the plunger towards the first limit position.

Abstract: A hardwood flooring nailer destined to be loaded with at least one fastener, the nailer comprising a main rigid frame, and a fastener discharge mechanism attached to the main frame and which can be activated for allowing the nailer to discharge a fastener. The nailer also includes an adjustable double handle transversely carried by the main frame and comprising a first handle and a second handle, and mounting means mounting the first handle to the second handle. The first and the second handle can be selectively moved relative to one another in order to adjust the double handle in one of several different grasping configurations.

Abstract: The snowshoe includes an opened U-shaped frame supporting a semi-rigid decking having a toe hole and a harness pivotally attached to the decking near the toe hole. The absence of a rear tail portion on the frame forms a gap that helps prevent the dragging effect of the snowshoe while it trails on the ground during gait. Also, the harness is pivotally attached to the decking by means of a harness attachment that includes an anti-torsion shoulder that will abut on the edge of the decking in the toe hole, to prevent the harness from rotating about an axis that is transversal to the decking.

Abstract: The device, destined to be anchored in the ground of granular composition, comprises a rod with a hollow tubular section, the latter having an open upper end wherein can be fixed an object and an intermediate orifice on its flank. The orifice enables evacuation of the granular matter constituting the ground and penetrating into the rod through its open lower end when the device is being anchored in the ground.

Abstract: An essential oil reclaim method for use with a corresponding apparatus, comprising the following steps: the apparatus grabs the tree parts, the tree tops or the tree limbs, and shakes them with rotating drums provided with chains (under whiplash effect); the needles are segregated through a vibrating sieve; the needles are compressed for a first essential oil extraction under mechanical compression; the needles are then pushed into a sealed chamber comprising an endless screw which upwardly conveys the needles; steam is sprayed on the needles, so as to thermally extract essential oils from condensate; the needle residues, or “muka”, escapes from the top end of the thermal chamber. This essential oil reclaim apparatus also relates to the invention.

Abstract: A test fixture for testing a circuit board, comprising a top plate defining a board-bearing surface for receiving the circuit board to be tested thereon. The test fixture comprises a lid having a lid frame defining a peripheral rim, and a lid diaphragm movably mounted to the frame opposite the peripheral rim; the lid diaphragm defines an inner surface to which is mounted a circuit board securing member. The lid is movable between a first position where the frame rim engages the top plate to define a test chamber about the board-bearing surface and between the top plate, the frame and the diaphragm, and a second position where the lid is moved away from the top plate to allow access to the test chamber.

Abstract: The push-back storage system includes an elongated storing lane defining opposite front and rear ends and at least one pair of spaced-apart parallel elongated rails extending between the front and rear ends of the storing lane and being inclined downwardly from the rear end towards the front end. Each rail includes a pair of elongated inclined side walls integrally linked at a common elongated top edge. At least one cart is rollably carried by the pair of rails and is rollable along the pair of rails between the storing lane front and rear ends, the cart having a load-bearing frame rollably carrying a number of wheels each engaging a corresponding one of the rails. Each wheel has a web rotatable about a rotational axis and a pair of side flanges radially extending from and axially spaced-apart along the wheel web so as to define a rail-engaging surface on the wheel web between the spaced-apart side flanges. The rail-engaging surface is wider than the top edge of the corresponding rail.

Abstract: A vapor generator comprising an evaporator unit, which in turn includes an inner chamber for containing a first fluid in a liquid state, and further includes a preheated liquid inlet and a vapor outlet, the evaporator unit having a heating device therein which can be activated for vaporizing the first fluid contained in the inner chamber to generate vapor. The vapor generator further comprises a preheating tank defining an inner chamber and comprising a liquid inlet for injection of the first fluid in a liquid state in the inner chamber, and a liquid outlet. Moreover, the vapor generator comprises an opened liquid channel connecting the preheating tank liquid outlet to the evaporator unit liquid inlet, and establishing free and continuous fluid communication between the preheating tank inner chamber and the evaporator unit inner chamber.

The hinge comprises a first attachment device for attaching the hinge to a corresponding one of the temples, a second attachment device for attaching the hinge to the frame, a rigid intermediate portion, a first flexible resilient portion carrying the first attachment device and attached to the rigid intermediate portion, and a second flexible resilient portion carrying the second attachment device and attached to the rigid intermediate portion opposite the first resilient portion.
