  • Patent number: 6155024
Abstract: A filling machine employs a rotary table with a plurality of peripheral openings for receiving bags for filling with particulate matter as the table rotates. A gathering and severing unit is provided on the table in order to close the bag after filling. This unit includes a pair of guide plates which serve to gather a part of the bag when the guide plates are moved towards each other. In addition, a reciprocally mounted severing blade is positioned on one of the guide plates and is reciprocated transversely of the movement of the guide plates in order to sever the gathered part of the bag. The blade may be reciprocated twice to ensure complete severance of the gathered part of the bag.

  • Patent number: 6152554
Abstract: The housing of a hinge assembly is provided with elongated apertures and a plate of less width than the housing is clamped over the apertures by mounting screws which secure the housing to a cabinet. The housing wall and the surface of the plate are serrated to secure the plate against lateral movement after being clamped to the housing. A cover is snap-fitted onto the housing to seal off the elongated apertures and to eliminate any exposed gaps.

  • Patent number: 6145136
Abstract: The strainer for the drain assembly is formed of a cup-shaped body having an outer peripheral wall with slots for draining water, an upraised central portion having an inner peripheral wall with slots for draining water and a floor extending between the two walls with openings for draining water. A bail is pivotally secured to the upright central portion for manipulating the strainer. This strainer also has a plurality of tabs which extend outwardly of the body to interfit with a retainer within a sink for securement purposes.

  • Patent number: 6146723
Abstract: A clear crystalline faceted substrate is provided with a coating of a colored transparent ink in order to enhance the appearance of the otherwise inexpensive gem stone. The ink is a permanent type ink made from n-propanol, n-butanol and diacetone alcohol which is soluble in a solution having a isopropyl alcohol 99% strength. Once the coating has been applied to a substrate such as a cubic zirconia to enhance the appearance of the gem stone, the coating can be removed by use of the solvent. A fresh coating of a different color may then be applied.

  • Patent number: 6128879
Abstract: The insulation barrier is made with a flexible foam polyethylene substrate and a film which is secured to at least one side of the substrate and which extends from at least one lateral edge of the substrate. The insulation barrier may be supplied in roll form or in panel form. In one embodiment, the film may be provided with a plurality of small holes to permit moisture vapor to pass through under a differential pressure on opposite sides of the barrier. In still another embodiment, the substrate may be provided with spaced apart embossments while the film is provided with pockets receiving the embossments. The barrier has multiple uses as an insulation/vapor barrier for interior and exterior use on buildings including use in roofing, flooring and walls.

  • Patent number: 6119906
Abstract: The plastic hanger is provided with a cross-bar of S-shape cross-section and a pair of clips. One jaw of each clip is integrally molded with the cross-bar while the opposed jaw is separately molded and held in place by a spring clip which biases the clamping ends of the jaws together. The cross-bar is provided with spacers at the ends to space adjacent hangers apart. The upper finger-receiving end of the jaw integrated with the cross-bar is contoured and provided with a shoulder to give the appearance that the upper end of the jaw is separate from the cross-bar.

  • Patent number: 6117031
Abstract: The kickball information delivery system employs a ball having an internally disposed device for emitting a first sound location signal, a base transmitter unit for emitting a second sound location signal as well as a signal and an information unit to be mounted on a person for emitting a third pulsed sound signal to indicate the location of the person. In addition, the information unit is able to receive the signal and to use the reception of the signal to change the pulse frequency of the third sound signal to indicate alignment with the signal, for example to permit running from home plate to first base.

  • Patent number: 6100655
Abstract: The electrically powered actuator includes a capacitor for supplying supplemental electrical power to a motor in response to a loss of power to the motor from a main power source in order to enable the motor to overcome the magnetic resistance of the motor and a frictional resistance of a gear train in order to bias a positioning device into a retracted fail-safe position. The supplemental electrical power supplied to the motor supplements the biasing force of a spring or the like for biasing the positioning device from an extended position into the retracted fail-safe position. The capacitor is connected to the electrical circuit of the motor so as to be charged during normal operation of the motor and for delivering a pulse of reverse polarity power to the motor in response to a loss of power to the motor from the main source of power.
