Abstract: Mixing apparatus includes a rotor having at least one rotor surface comprising a non-cylindrical surface of revolution about the rotor shaft axis and a stator having at least one stator surface which is substantially reciprocal in shape to the rotor surface. The rotor and stator surfaces have pluralities of mixing teeth attached to and projecting outwardly from these surfaces such that the teeth on the rotor surfaces intermesh with those on the stator surfaces. These mixing teeth may be tapered preferably on both their circumferential and radial sides.

Abstract: Apparatus is disclosed for attaching a curtain board to a support surface. Such apparatus includes an elongated fastening member having a base which is adapted to be attached to the support surface. At least two attachment members extend outwardly from the base. Each of these attachment members include two arms of a flexible material which are spaced apart to define a slot and each of these arms includes at least two substantially parallel transverse grooves formed in its surface facing the slot.At least two connectors are attached to and extend outwardly from the curtain board at positions such that the connectors will mate with the attachment members. Each of the connectors includes a central shaft attached to the curtain board and a plurality of projections extending transversely outwardly from the central shaft.

Abstract: Portable apparatus to impart a rocking motion to a bed includes a first and second supporting members disposable adjacent to the bed ends and first and second elongated members respectively mounted pivotable at their centerpoints on the first and second supporting members. The bed is mounted on the elongated members so that it is supported between them, and a source of reciprocating motion, such as a hydraulic cylinder, is connected to one end of at least one of the elongated members to impart a rocking motion to the bed.

Abstract: A device is disclosed for removing a disposable tip from a pipette. The device includes an elongated shaft with a flattened push-button at one end and an elongated groove. Elongated projections extend inwardly from each side of the groove.A guide member extends outwardly from the pipette. The guide member includes opposed longitudinal notches configured to mate with the projections along the sides of the groove in the shaft and includes an end portion configured to slide within the groove in the shaft.A sleeve is attached to the second end of the shaft. The sleeve is configured to slide over the exterior surface of the pipette. A spring is disposed within the shaft groove and biases the shaft and attached sleeve into a first position where the end of the pipette is exposed so that a disposable tip can be attached to it. When the push-button is depressed, the shaft and sleeve move downwardly along the pipette to push off the disposable tip.

Abstract: A motionless mixer including a number of baffles attached to a central rod is slidably mountable within a hollow cylindrical conduit. A cross member is attached across the interior of the conduit and is configured to mate with a slot formed in the downstream end of the central rod, to prevent longitudinal motion or rotation of the mixer within the conduit.

Abstract: Apparatus for the elimination of noxious ammonia fumes associated with diazo copiers includes a plenum chamber disposed about the output aperture of the machine developer chamber. Vacuum means are provided to draw the ammonia laden air out of this chamber. Preferably this apparatus is used in conjunction with a novel filter connected between the chamber and the vacuum means. The filter comprises a filter body of a material such as corrugated paper having a plurality of longitudinal substantially parallel channels, the walls of which are impregnated with a material, such as phosphoric acid, which will react with ammonia to generate odorless end products. A granular layer impregnated with such a material may be disposed in contact with the output end of this filter body.

Abstract: Apparatus for perforating a cover of a top covered cup and pouring a liquid in a predetermined quantity into the cup comprising a perforating tubular member and a liquid pipe which is controlled by a solenoid valve. The perforating tubular member is disposed over a predetermined position where the cup should is to be placed so that the tube vertically extends over and is movable downwardly to perforate the cover of the cup by a sharpened lower end thereof. The perforating member is vertically reciprocated by a driving means which is started by the operation of a switch and is stopped by a second detecting means which detects a time when the perforating member has been restored to its rest position. The output port of the liquid pipe is also disposed over the position where the cup should be placed and is mounted within the perforating tubular member. A first detecting means is provided which detect a time when the perforating member arrives a predetermined position after perforation.

Abstract: A vidicon tube target includes a three-ply semi-insulating layer structure which comprises a bottom layer of CeO.sub.2, an intermediate layer of CePbO.sub.2.sub.+x (0<x<1), and a top layer of PbO. A camera tube incorporating this target operates with reduced initial dark current and with extreme stability.

Abstract: A demountable structure, for example for forming scaffolding, shelf assemblies or frame assemblies comprises a pair of co-axial spaced connection and support members with a connection element or bracket interposed between the ends of the members. The engaging surfaces of the support members and brackets form frustum cone surfaces and are drawn together and stiffened by a threaded stem passing therethrough.

Abstract: A suspension clamp for an overhead electrical cable includes a clamping member which clamps the cable along a portion of its longitudinal sides. Arms extend outwardly from the opposed lateral sides of the clamping member along the direction defined by the cable. Supporting members for the cable are mounted on each of these arms at a distance from the clamping member such that the cable will be free to oscillate within the space between the clamping member and each of the supporting members.

Abstract: A file cabinet construction includes at least one shelf mounted within a housing having parellel opposed side walls and a rear wall. A number of guide rails are mounted at predetermined positions along the shelf so that they are parallel to the side walls of the housing. Each guide rail has a longitudinal slot extending into the guide rail from the end located nearest to the rear wall of the housing and terminating at a point adjacent to the forward edge of the shelf. A boxlike container which includes opposed parallel longitudinal sides and a bottom having a longitudinal channel is detachably mounted on each guide by a floating pin. The floating pin is mounted so that the longitudinal axis of the pin is transverse to the channel in the bottom of each container.

Abstract: Uneven wear of the cutting edges of rotating trepanning or drilling tools is avoided by employing at least two cutting blades, by providing a single support strip embedded in an elastically pliable material, and by arranging the cutting blades such, that the resultant force of the cutting forces produced during the drilling operation is directed to the support strip and is of a magnitude such that the lubricant film bracing said strip against the borehole wall does not break away.

Abstract: An inhaler apparatus includes a housing which encloses a gas source, a gas applicator, a feed hose which connects the gas source and applicator and a valve for controlling the flow of gas from the source to the applicator. The housing includes a lid which provides access to the applicator when open and prevents access when closed. Locking means are provided to hold the lid in the closed position and means such as an insertable strip or key are provided to disengage the locking means and provide access to the applicator.
