  • Patent number: 6571143
Abstract: The present invention includes a golf scoring system for at least one golf competition, wherein at least one participant plays at a first geographic location with a set of results and at least one participant plays at a second geographic location with another set of results. This system includes determining at least one normalizing factor for each of the geographic locations relative to each other; compiling results from each of the participants; applying the normalizing factor to each of the results; and determining a final score for each of the participants. The normalizing factor can be stored in a data source; wherein the results are compiled also stored in the data source. The final score for each of the participants may also be stored in the data source and users can access the data source to view the final score for each of the participants. Moreover, participants can communicate with each other using email or chat rooms.

  • Patent number: 6247133
Abstract: A method for verifying the source of an electronic document located on a computer network, wherein the electronic document is viewed through a Document Viewer, which includes incorporating a document identifier into the electronic document. The document identifier contains identifying information related to the electronic document. A verification signal containing the identifying information and location information related to the location of the electronic document on the computer network is generated with the Document Viewer and is transmitted to a verification computer. The verification computer accesses a data source to retrieve an identification record and a location record for the electronic document. These records are compared with the verification signal, and a reply signal is generated, which is transmitted back to the Document Viewer.

  • Patent number: 6175082
Abstract: A device for controlling the movement of an electrical cord which connects a computer mouse to a computer. The device is made of a shackle made of a partially cylindrical body having flared lips which extend along the shackle body and a mounting structure attached to the shackle. The device shackle attaches to a mouse cord and the device mounting structure is attachable to stationary objects such as mouse pads or desk tops. The device limits the movement of a computer mouse cord to a length necessary to operate a computer mouse while restraining the remaining mouse cord length by allowing the length of mouse cord between the mouse and the shackle to be moved while the length of cord between the shackle and the computer is held stationary by the device.
