Abstract: A device for the cessation of the blood flow in an extremity comprising a plurality of chambers encircling the extremity in a sequential arrangement. Each chamber being able to individually apply or release pressure to the extremity. The device has a monitor for determining the pressure applied to the extremity. The device further having a mechanism for continuously cycling the chambers.

Abstract: A dispenser of crayons or the like comprising a container having a longitudinally extending passageway there through. The container has inner and outer walls. The container also has an upper open end and a lower open end for dispensing the crayon or the like. The dispenser further has urging means for moving a crayon in a direction outwardly through the container and the lower open end. In addition, a crayon cartridge is provided with a longitudinal bore there through.

Abstract: Apparatus and method for treating the interior surfaces of hollow plastic objects to improve their adherency to and compatibility with another component, such as polyurethane foam. The invention consists of creating a vacuum in the object and drawing a conductive gas inside the object. A pair of electrodes are spaced apart from each other, and a source of electricity is provided thereto of sufficient intensity to produce an electrical discharge across the gap between the electrodes when an object is in the gap between the electrodes. The electrodes are arranged with regard to the size and configuration of the object to provide ionization of the conductive gas inside the object to surface treat the inner walls.

Abstract: A reinforcing assembly for a garage door or the like comprising an upper cross member extending from one side of the garage door to the other side and two lower cross members extending from the ends of the upper cross members downwardly. The assembly also includes a bracket for joining said lower cross members and tensioning means connected to said lower cross members.

Abstract: A wave dampening batt for use inside a waterbed mattress is made by intimately mixing a multiplicity of short, non-woven fibers of a first type and a multiplicity of short, non-woven thermal bonding fibers. Raising the temperature of the mixture of fibers above the melting point of the thermal bonding fibers yet below the melting point of the fibers of the first type and then lowering the temperature below that melting point causes the thermal bonding fibers to join the fibers of the first type together throughout the wave dampening batt. A waterbed mattress having a batt made in accordance with this method is also disclosed. The fibers of the first type may be solid or hollow with closed ends, the hollow fibers with closed ends providing buoyancy for the batt. The fibers of the first type may also be lobed or unlobed, the lobed fibers having improved resiliency so that the batt recovers more of its thickiness after compression than a batt made of unlobed fibers of comparable size and denier.
