Abstract: An improved decoding, processing and delivery system in a PBX for the advanced determination and display of geographic information to a called party relating to the call origination party. The improved system comprises a receiving device to receive the calling number delivery (CND) message from a switching center; a central database server at the PBX for storage and retrieval of specific data from a library for selectively determining the corresponding geographic information of the call origination party; a transmission device for sending data from the server over the station-telephone connectivity plane; a receiving device in a telephone; and a readout device for displaying the geographic information of the incoming call. Accordingly, the improved system provides the user with convenient and efficient display of geographic information related to caller identification that is capable of determining an ever-increasing number of area code and local telephone exchange number.

  • Patent number: 7162976
Abstract: An improved method is provided for treatment of feed water for livestock and other animals to reduce bacterial contamination while at the same time improving live performance. A gaseous mixture comprising ozone and oxygen gas is produced from ambient air and directly contacted with a supply of water to produce a solution of gaseous mixture. This contact step is continued until the content of ozone in the water supply is within a range of from about 5 parts per million to about 20 parts per million, and the content of oxygen is between about 80% and 97% of saturation. Thereafter, the resultant water product is directed for use as feed water to livestock or other animals to be treated.

  • Patent number: 6985572
Abstract: An improved decoding and processing system is provided for advanced determination and display of geographic information to a called party relating to the call origination party. The improved system comprises a receiving device to receive an MDMF or SDMF format message from a local CO switch containing call identification data; a microcontroller storage and retrieval device containing a data base library for selectively determining the corresponding geographic information such as city and/or state by matching the area code and/or local exchange number received from the call origination party; and a readout device for displaying the city and/or state of the incoming call. Preferably, the system includes capability to automatically update the data base library of the storage and retrieval device as new area codes and/or local exchanges are subsequently assigned.

  • Patent number: 6732215
Abstract: An expandable multiprocessor computer system is provided incorporating a master computer, control computers and servant computers housed in modular units. Servant computers of the super scalable multiprocessor system act as cells of a singular entity enhancing system performance over conventional individually networked computers. Application information is transported between servant computers by way of a standard ultra high speed primary network as opposed to a specialized ultra high speed back plane. The design of the primary network allows for parallel internal data transfer in single modules, and allows for parallel internal data transfer between multiple modules through the provision of control computers in each module. Administration information is transported between the master computer, control computers and servant computers by way of a secondary network.

  • Patent number: 6731499
Abstract: An adjustable illumination system is provided to enhance the appearance and functionality of computer hardware. The illumination system comprising at least one bubble tube light source that may, for instance, be disposed on a front surface of a computer hardware casing. The bubble tube light source may conveniently be programmed by the end user for display of single color or multi-color effect. The illumination system may also comprise LCD display of time and temperature for enhancement of the panel display.

  • Patent number: 6716888
Abstract: The present invention provides methods and apparatus for the formation of heterogeneous ion-exchange membranes by prescribed in-line compounding and extrusion of a polymeric binder and heat sensitive ion-exchange resin. The ion-exchange resin is incorporated, at a late process stage, into the melted matrix polymer at relatively low temperature and residence time prior to transfer to a die head for extrusion. In the presently preferred embodiment, the in-line compounding apparatus comprises a twin-screw compounding extruder, for effecting late stage kneading and mixing of ion-exchange resin and optional additives to the polymer melt, prior to compression to transfer the blended polymer melt to a die head for extrusion. Accordingly, the final properties of the resultant heterogeneous ion-exchange membrane are enhanced as the blended polymer melt material is not exposed to excessive heat and shear history.

  • Patent number: 6421121
Abstract: Unique methods and apparatus are provided for rapidly identifying microscopic particles, such as protozoa and other microbes suspended in a fluid or gas. In one embodied form, the method comprises illuminating the particles to be detected with an intense light source such as a laser, detecting scattered light by means of an array of optical sensors surrounding a detection zone, converting the detected light to an electrical signal, and comparing the derived signal with at least one frequency-of-occurrence/probability histogram curve to qualitatively and/or quantitatively identify the microscopic particles present.
