Abstract: A method for calculating the yield of a reaction product comprises providing a solid support with a first link, a reference material, and a second link having an attachment site. Chemistry is performed on the attachment site of the second link in one or more steps to produce a reaction product. The amount of the reference material and the reaction product is measured, and the percentage yield of the reaction product is determined based at least in part on the amount of measured reference material and the amount of measured reaction product.
Abstract: A chemical construct for use with solution phase chemistry comprises a reversible attachment unit and one or more attribute conferring units. Such units may include separation attribute conferring units, identification attribute conferring units, and quantitation attribute conferring units.
Abstract: The insertion of isotopically labeled portions into solid state combinatorial synthesis constructs followed by mass spectrometer, mass-based nuclear magnetic resonance spectrometry or mass-based infrared spectrometry analysis allows for the physical, non-chemical encoding of large numbers of combinatorial synthesis products.

Abstract: Statistical classification of activities of molecules is a computer implemented methodology of QSAR employing visualization of molecular features and statistical techniques for correlating features of molecules with their observed biological properties. Each molecule is described by noting the presence (1) or absence (0) of a feature of interest. The identification of specific features coded by 1's or 0's is accomplished by recursive partitioning. The data sets are planned or unplanned. The method is also applicable to classification of individuals in biological populations on the basis of their genetic makeup.

Abstract: A self standing supporting structure and method for use in providing sleeping and/or resting accommodations in a limited space area such as in a college dormitory, a medical institution, a prison and in other areas. The structure is designed to support at least one bed and/or other accommodation device in at least two positions, one position being a "non-use position and the other position being a "use" position. The bed and/or other accommodation devices are pivotally mounted on the supporting structure and are retained in the desired position by at least one retaining device. The structure may also be constructed with adjustable feature to make the width of the device shorter as desired to facilitate the cleaning and/or painting of walls in the space area adjacent to the device.

Abstract: A portable exercise and therapy device for the muscles of the lower back and the muscles of the abdomen. A framework in the shape of a parallelogram supports a cushion maintaining a constant angle of 131 degrees between the lower back of the user and the upper legs of the user. The cushion can contain a lower back massager and an elastic band adapted to hold hot or cold packs for application to the lower back. A variety of exercises can be performed on the device that tend to strengthen the muscles of the abdomen and the lower back.
Abstract: A coupling device especially adapted for the joining of polyethylene underground irrigation hoses, having a female portion, a male portion and a lock cap, the female portion having a threaded nipple for insertion into a hose end and several tabbed prongs that snap into holes in the locking cap, the male portion likewise having a threaded nipple for insertion into a second hose end and several lugs that fit into grooves in the lock cap, enabling the male portion to be pulled out of the assembly for a limited distance, for ease of fitting into difficult hose coupling situations. The presence of the lugs prevents rotation of the male portion with respect to the cap until the male portion is pulled out of the assembly far enough that the lugs are pulled past the end of the locking cap.
Abstract: A toothbrush having a handle rotated by forty five degrees with respect to its detachable and replaceable bristle head, whose bristles form a contoured brushing surface having three to four alternating rounded peaks and valleys, and which has a raised helical screw thread on its neck that allows a twirling motion at the neck to impart a diagonal direction of travel to the bristles of the brush.
Abstract: A child resistant drug assemblage is disclosed comprising a container having rows of spaced drug cell cavities each of which receives a unit drug dose of medication. The container is provided with a lock means that enables it to be readily opened by an adult but difficult to be opened by a child.
Abstract: Described is a new process for producing 7.beta.-substituted-4-aza-5.alpha.-androstan-3-ones and related compounds which are 5.alpha.-reductase inhibitors.
Abstract: Disclosed are cyclic hexapeptides of the formula: ##STR1## These compounds are antagonists of oxytocin and are useful in the treatment of preterm labor and dysmenorrhea, and for stoppage of labor prepatory to Caesarian delivery.
