  • Patent number: 4123122
Abstract: A rough and porous coating is applied by spraying and metallurgically bonding to a bearing member. The coating is preferably of a strong and thermally conductive material, such as aluminum-bronze, with the coating having interstices, such as cavities, undercuts, and craters to provide a porous material. An adhesive-solid lubricant formulation is then applied to the coating. The adhesive-solid lubricant formulation fills the coating interstices. The adhesive-solid lubricant formulation is cured for the required time at the required temperature to form a low-friction bearing surface layer.

  • Patent number: 4106826
Abstract: A longitudinal lubrication bore extends at least partially through the inner member of a bearing. A radial bore may extend from the longitudinal bore to the raceway on the bearing inner member. A one-way check valve is permanently assembled in the longitudinal bore. The valve permits the flow of lubricant into the longitudinal bore and into the bearing space between the inner race and outer race of the bearing.

  • Patent number: 4098642
Abstract: A high consistency pulp slurry is prevented from floccing by at least one pivotable member located in the vat at the area where the pulp slurry leaves the inlet box and enters the vat. The pivotable member is located with respect to the inner surface of the vat and is structured to speed-up the pulp slurry as it enters the vat to prevent floc formations. If pulp fibers should become stuck in the small space between the outer surface of the pivotable member and the inner surface of the vat, the pivotable member will automatically pivot away from the inner surface of the vat, thereby automatically loosening the stuck fibers. As soon as the stuck fibers are loosened, the pivotable member will return to its initial position.

  • Patent number: 4097214
Abstract: This is an extrusion head for extruding a parison to be blow molded. A shooting mandrel is longitudinally movable within a plastic melt accumulator chamber. After a "shot", the shooting mandrel is in the up position. The plastic melt fed to the plastic accumulating chamber forces the shooting mandrel to the down position as the plastic accumulating chamber is filled. The parison is formed by moving the shooting mandrel upwardly to the up position. The plastic flows around the shooting mandrel as it flows from the accumulating chamber and out of the extrusion head.

  • Patent number: 4096713
Abstract: This knitting needle is a latch needle of the male latch-female hook type. The shape of the groove in the hook and the shape of the latch is such that during the initial use of the needle, only the end of the inner surface of the latch contacts the bottom surface of the groove. The amount of the surface of the inner portion of the latch which contacts the groove bottom surface gradually increases as the groove bottom surface and the inner surface of the latch are worn by use.

  • Patent number: 4085003
Abstract: At least one longitudinal baffle extends from an area within the forming zone into the compaction zone. In the forming zone the baffle is pivotally connected to the vat and also has a pivotal structure in the area where the forming zone changes into the compaction zone. Actuating means are located in the compaction zone and apply actuating forces against the outside surface of the baffle to cause the baffle to automatically adjust the convergence angle in response to changes in pulp mat thickness.

  • Patent number: 4067800
Abstract: The pressurized screening apparatus for screening fibrous material in liquid suspensions includes a fixed cylindrical screen mounted within a housing to form an inner chamber. An axially extending annular channel receives the suspension. A dilution liquid is passed tangentially into the channel. The dilution liquid helps in the separation of the acceptable fibers from the undesired constituent so that a large proportion of the acceptable fibers is fed through the cylindrical screen and a minimal amount of undesired material flows to the bottom of the annular channel as part of the rejects.

  • Patent number: 4062701
Abstract: The method is performed on a cylinder having at least one end opening for receiving a flange forming tool. An annular shoulder is formed extending from the outside of the cylinder substantially perpendicular to the axis of the cylinder. Also, an annular extension is provided on the cylinder having an outside surface extending from the inside of the annular shoulder to the end of the cylinder. The length of the outside surface is formed to be greater than the radial width of the annular shoulder. A flange forming tool is then applied against the free end of the annular extension to move the annular extension until its formerly outside surface is against the annular shoulder to provide an end flange extending substantially perpendicularly to the axis of the cylinder.
