  • Patent number: 5518712
Abstract: An improved sunscreen protection and insect repellent combination compound having an SPF factor of 15 and further having an unexpected unusually long efficacy period when used in rainy conditions and prolonged periods of high humidity as in tropical and sub-tropical rain forests or the like, and in underwater conditions as in swimming. The compound forms a lotion that is easy to store. The lotion can be applied to the skin of a person with little or no training. No special precautions are required by the person when applying the lotion. The compound has a sweet taste when applied to the lips and is pleasantly scented. The compound forms a thin film on the skin, but is non-greasy to the touch. The lotion is easily removed by scrubbing with soap and water. The sunscreen component being about between 4% to 8% by weight, the insect repellent compound being about between 12% to 22% by weight, and the water based solvent being about between 27% to 37% by weight.

  • Patent number: 5448966
Abstract: A system for washing and rinsing and drying an animal automatically in an enclosed space is disclosed. The system has paired operable front doors and paired operable rear doors and paired operable roof panels in a hingeable cooperative relationship. The panels are retracted to allow the animal ingress and egress prior to and after the cleaning cycle. The system has a plurality of discharge devices oriented and disposed on an interior surface of a plurality of paired opposed upstanding sidewalls in a base. A device for oscillating the plurality of discharge devices is provided to insure complete coverage of the animal's body including the underside and interior portions of the front and hind legs during the washing and rinsing and drying cycle. An aperture is oriented in a central section of one of the front door panels for allowing the animal's head to protrude from the enclosure. In this manner, there is no chance of discharge of the water outside of the enclosure.

  • Patent number: 5435508
Abstract: An apparatus for supporting the wrist of a keyboard operator during repetitive keyboard operations is disclosed. The apparatus comprises a bladder having an elongated length and an arcuate cross-section, and enclosed sealed ends. The bladder contains a viscous fluid for supporting the wrist of the keyboard operator when the operator is engaged in repetitive keyboard operations. An outer shell completely surrounds the bladder and contacts the wrist of the operator. The outer shell has an aperture adapted to receive the bladder and remove the bladder when it is desired to wash the outer shell. The outer shell is fabricated from a material that will withstand repeated machine washings and will maintain a fresh odor-free aroma and a pleasant-to-the-touch, itch-free feeling. The viscous fluid contains about between 0.5% to 5.5% hydroxy propyl methylcellulose with the balance being water.

  • Patent number: 5429043
Abstract: A power operated system for raising and lowering an oven rack but without opening the oven door is disclosed. The system comprises a plurality of conventional rectangular wire oven shelves in a spaced apart relationship. Each shelf is supported on a protuberance that has a threaded portion that rides up and down a threaded support bar. The support bar is turned by a continuous loop chain gear that derives it's direction from an electric motor. The electric motor is controlled by a remote located switch on the face of the oven. The support bars form a right-angle frame within the oven cavity and are oriented above a lowermost section of the oven which houses the electric motor and the journal bearings they are in.

  • Patent number: 5362266
Abstract: A fresh water flushing system for a marine engine in a boat for use whether the boat is in or out of the water is disclosed. The system comprises a control panel mounted on the interior of the boat, a plurality of tubular "T" shaped interconnection fittings in a raw sea water cooling conduit, and a fresh water flush valve therebetween. The components are connected for fresh water fluid flow with a plurality of standard radiator hoses. The fresh water flush valve has a valve plunger for establishing fresh water flow between the control panel and the "T" shaped interconnection fittings. Further, the fresh water flush valve has a plurality of axial outlet ports to proportionately direct the flow of fresh water to the appropriate "T" shaped interconnection fitting in the raw sea water cooling conduit of the marine engine. A valve plug is provided to secure a positive closure when the fresh water flow is disconnected.

  • Patent number: 5345221
Abstract: An alarm system for protecting a person and a valuable item from a thief is disclosed. The system comprises a personal module and an item module, each module being identical in size and shape and detail of construction. The modules are adapted to work in a paired, opposed relationship with each other. Each module has a plurality of flat multipole magnetic couplers recessed on an exterior face thereof. Each module has an electrical circuit contained within the casing having a siren transducer and a replaceable DC power source and an alarm switch therebetween. The alarm switch is adapted to close the circuit between the siren transducer and the DC power source when the modules are separated. Further, each module has a reed switch coupled to a magnetic switch in the casing inside the opposed module for deactivating the siren transducer and the replaceable DC power source upon the mating of the modules. The first module, the personal module, is attached to the person by a lanyard.
