    Abstract: A method is provided for disposing a tripartite electrical connective-resistive system of related coating areas upon interior portions of a cathode ray tube envelope to effect arc suppression in the region of the electron generating assembly. The tripartite means is comprised of a first low resistive electrical conductive coating disposed on the forward portion of the envelope. A durable high resistive electrical conductive coating is disposed contiguous to and rearward of the first coating extending therefrom to the neck of the envelope. This resistive coating is an amorphous deposition of a homogeneous composition of an insulative vitreous frit material admixed with at least one particulate material selected from the group consisting essentially of cadmium oxide, indium oxide and copper oxide.

Removal of the exterior portion of the tubulation beyond the seal provides an electrical connection extending exteriorly thereof.

    Abstract: Electrical connective means are provided for effecting the external connections to a multi-element electron tube having a closure portion wherein the sealed exhaust tubulation has a conductive lead extending therefrom. The connective means includes a base member having a projecting hollow-stack portion which is formed to protectively encompass the sealed tubulation. Additionally, the hollow-stack has a metallic contact recessed therein, ahead of the seal, to which the protruding seal-related lead is affixed. A central recess is formed in a mating socket member to match the projecting stack of the base member. The stack is telescopically positioned within the recess to enable a receptor contact located therein to make seated abutment with the metallic contact in the base.

    Abstract: An improved CRT beam adjustment device is provided for exterior orientation on the neck of the tube. The device includes a plurality of rotatably adjustable annulate magnetic members sequentially positioned on a support sleeve, one end thereof being formed to have a plurality of tongue-like extensions, each having a terminal protuberance extending radially outward therefrom. Each protuberance has a surface facing the annulate member that is downward sloping toward the body of the sleeve. An adjustable ring clamp is positioned to ride on the slanted surface of the protuberance and abut the adjacent magnetic members, thereby providing by one adjustment, pressure to positionally lock the adjusted members while simultaneously affixing the device to the neck of the tube.

    Abstract: The invention provides conjunctive apparatus for facilitating the fabrication of the basic pattern windowed-web portion of a color cathode ray tube screen structure formed in the viewing area of the face panel. In accordance with the invention, additional photo-exposure of the panel is discretely effected by the apparatus to polymerize a defined band of coating confined to the sidewall portion of the panel. The presence of this band subsequently facilitates expeditious removal of extraneous graphite coating from the panel sidewall, from the mask positioning studs embedded therein, and from the terminal sealing edge therearound. Thus, the apparatus of the invention provides desirably bare sidewall-associated surfaces that are free of deleterious particulate matter.

The opposed panel-disposed section makes positive connection with the peripheral protective member, which in turn, has a connective element associated therewith to complete the grounding circuitry without disturbing the intervening conductive material or the funnel coating associated therewith.
