Abstract: The combination of N?-long chain alkanoyl di basic amino acid alkyl ester salts with glycerol monofatty acid esters results in biocidal synergy and the extension of cidal activity of the di basic amino acid derivative for a variety of antimicrobial applications like oral care, wound care, dermatological care, animal care, and cosmetic applications. N?-C8-C14-long chain alkanoyl-L-arginine alkyl (C1-C4 short chain) ester salts with glycerol monofatty acid esters (C8-C14) are very effective as antimicrobial agents for hospital use particularly as a coating for surgical drapes, covers, walls, trays, table tops, gurneys, or the like. Other uses include the treatment of HSV-1 (fever sore) and as a microbicide when using the combination of the di basic amino acid ester derivative with glycerol monofatty acid esters for preventing HIV and STD's.

Abstract: The tin-doped indium oxide thin film in accordance with the present invention has a tin-doped indium oxide, yttrium ions and europium ions, wherein the yttrium ions are proportional to 0.1-10 mol % of the tin-doped indium oxide while the europium ions proportional to 0.05-5 mol % of the tin-doped indium oxide. The method in accordance with the present invention comprises preparing a tin-doped indium oxide; and doping yttrium ions proportional to 0.1-10 mol % of the tin-doped indium and europium ions proportional to 0.05-5 mol % of the tin-doped indium oxide in the tin-doped indium oxide using a film-manufacturing method.

Abstract: A transverse-positioning hinge has a seat, at least one elastic ball, a shaft and a fastening washer. The elastic ball is mounted in the seat. The shaft is mounted through the seat and has at least one positioning detent selectively engaging the elastic ball. The fastening washer is attached to the end of the shaft. Adjusting the tightness for attaching the fastening washer changes the deformation of the elastic ball, and then the resilient force provided by the elastic ball is also adjusted. Therefore, the positioning force provided by the elastic ball is adjustable without changing the elastic ball.
Abstract: This invention provides a control release formulation or rumen-bypass dietary supplement in compacted form. The formulation or supplement has the capability to transport fatty acid calcium salt and between about 1-75 percent of one or more rumen-protected undegraded biologically active agents to the post-ruminal digestive system of a ruminant. A feedstock containing the formulation or supplement for ruminants beneficially improves feed efficiency and body growth. The feedstock also is adapted to improve the lactational performance of dairy cattle.

Abstract: A composition, and method of use, for controlling, reducing or preventing the growth of protozoal bacteria in the rumen of a ruminant comprising cell bodies of a facultative anaerobe selected from the group consisting of Corynebacterium cell bodies and Brevibacterium cell bodies or a mixture of Corynebacterium cell bodies and Brevibacterium cell bodies, glutamic acid fermentation solubles, corn fermentation solubles, glutamic acid fermentation solubles and corn fermentation solubles.
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for utilizing low-quality tail gas derived from a pressure swing adsorption system or membrane system, which is used to upgrade biogas, as a beneficial fuel for the facility and/or digester boiler.
Abstract: The present invention is directed towards a clump recognition animal litter that enables a user to visually identify and dispose of all used litter portions from unused litter, regardless of clump size and clump location within the litter. The clump recognition animal litter comprises a clumping component and a color-indicating material. The litter clumps and displays a color in response to wetness.

Abstract: A vehicle collision avoidance system is implemented in a host vehicle. A wireless communication module in the host vehicles wirelessly broadcasts vehicle information packages of the host vehicle and receives external vehicle information packages from other neighboring vehicles. Based on the received vehicle information packages, a collision avoidance process is performed. The process has steps of mapping coordinates system, categorizing collision zones, determining whether a possible collision position exists, calculating a collision time and outputting warning messages. The estimations of the possible collision position and the collision time are not affected by the positions of the neighboring vehicles. Therefore, the neighboring vehicles approaching the host vehicle from different direction are effectively monitored.
Abstract: A pharmaceutical composition having a transcription factor decoy and a pharmaceutical acceptable carrier thereof is provided, wherein the transcription factor decoy is TCF decoy. A method for curing or preventing endotoxin-treated endothelial cells from apoptosis is provided. A method for treating or meliorating septic shock is also provided. The transcription factor decoy is effective on melioration of endothelial cell death after lipopolysaccharide challenge. Furthermore, the pharmaceutical composition is easy to be prepared, economic and has low immunogenicity.
