  • Patent number: 4034988
Abstract: An electronic circuit contained within a housing and having two sets of optoelectronic display elements on the face of the housing arranged to represent the spots of a set of dice. The electronic circuit includes a timer which produces timing pulses of varying duration controlled by an externally available switch which determines the beginning of the timing pulse and their duration. During the duration of each timing pulses a switching circuit produces two varying sequences of clock pulses each of which is counted by a binary counter configurated to six counts in a repetitive counting cycle. At the termination of each timing pulse, the final count on each of the counters is displayed on the optoelectronic elements as the numbers on a set of dice. An audible oscillator simulates the sound of rolling dice during the course of each timing pulse.

  • Patent number: 4033635
Abstract: The present invention refers to an electronic control device applicable to anti-skid equipment in automobile vehicles which compares the speed of the wheel with a voltage corresponding to the level of optimum vehicle-wheel slip. On the basis of the result of this comparison, the device operates an actuating system that increases or decreases the pressure on the brakes with the aim of maintaining the slip of the wheel around the skid for which maximum adherence is presented.

  • Patent number: 4034409
Abstract: An imaging system is provided whereby graphic information from a source is magnetically recorded on a receiving surface. The imaging system comprises shaping a magnetic field to substantially linear configuration and varying the intensity of the magnetic field along said line in accordance with information contained in a corresponding line of the source of the original graphic information. Toner material is disposed in magnetically attractable relation to the magnetic field for causing transfer of toner material to a receiving surface in a quantity corresponding to the variations of the magnetic field intensity along the line so that a record thereof is made upon a receiving surface interposed between the magnetic field and the toner supply.

  • Patent number: 4030153
Abstract: An attachment for apparatus that is arranged to cut threads on a tubular workpiece. The attachment includes a vertically oriented chute for delivering a stream of the tubular workpieces, by gravity, to a retractable pin on which the lowermost workpiece is supported. A reciprocating member is provided with spring biased jaws for gripping and removing the lowermost workpiece from the pin at the receiving station. The workpiece is moved into opposition with a plunger which transfers the unthreaded workpiece to the thread cutting apparatus. After the threads are cut, the plunger then retracts, together with the threaded workpiece, which is stripped therefrom by a second pair of spring biased jaws and carried away from the plunger so that the now threaded tubular workpiece may be discharged.

  • Patent number: 4022966
Abstract: A ground connector for a jacketed, interlocked armored cable includes a body portion, a resilient grommet, a frictional washer and a compression nut. A longitudinally split metallic grounding ring is also provided. A first end of the grounding ring is seated in a bore formed interiorly of the body portion. The opposite second end of the grounding ring is provided with a plurality of fingers as well as generally U-shaped connecting sections for joining the fingers to the second end of the cylindrical wall of the grounding ring. The connecting sections and the fingers are both deflectable upon assembly of the connector. The fingers, which are initially at an angle with respect to the longitudinal axis of the connector, point in the same direction as the direction of cable assembly. The free ends of the fingers act like barbs to thereby minimize retraction of the cable.

  • Patent number: 4011665
Abstract: A device is described for providing a semi-permanent luminescent display which includes a first sheet of substantially transparent material provided with a luminescent dye in the form of a fluorescent dye dispersed therethrough. The first sheet of fluorescent material is provided with a smooth major surface which is disposed in opposition to a smooth surface of a second dispersive opaque sheet of material. The two sheets of material are coextensive with one another and one of these sheets is pliable to permit the selective application of pressure on portions thereof to cause the smooth surfaces to come into contact with one another and cause the same to adhere to each other in the regions of these selective portions. Such adherence disperses the light in the fluorescent sheet which impinges at said portions and results in a luminescent effect corresponding to the indicia or pattern impressed.

  • Patent number: 4005439
Abstract: A magnetizable layer is initially magnetized and selected portions thereof are demagnetized by an optical imaging system. In one embodiment, an image to be reproduced is projected through a transparent electrically conductive electrode which is brought into contact with a photoconductive matrix through which is dispersed magnetizable particles. Changes in resistivity of the photoconductive matrix causes a current density distribution, which corresponds to the image intensity distribution, to flow transversely from the transparent electrode through the photoconductive matrix to a support electrode on which the matrix is fixed when a potential is applied between the transparent and support electrodes. The current distribution results in corresponding magnetic fields which modify or "erase" selected portions of the initially magnetized layer.

  • Patent number: 3999647
Abstract: The present invention relates to an endless chain structure incorporating a series of cages with a mechanism for varying the distance between the cages. The cages are arranged in two rows, one above the other, and are very close together in the straight stretches. Each of the cages is attached to a mechanism for varying the distances which determine an increase or a reduction in the separation between the cages before or after, respectively their passage over end pulleys or wheels of the structure, so that a cage begins its ascent towards the upper level or its descent towards the lower level, following a curved line determined by the rim of the pulley, to avoid the cage in question from being reached or touched by the cage immediately following and travelling in a direction that is still rectilinear.
