Abstract: An intubation device is disclosed for use with a light source for the reconstruction of the lacrimal ducts of a patient. The device comprises a first and a second base each being suitable for attachment to the light source. A first and second probe each having a proximal end and a distal end comprise light conducting means to permit the transmission of light along the interior length of the probes between the proximal ends and the distal ends. The proximal ends of the first and second probes are respectively connected to the first and second bases to permit entry of light from the light source to the proximal ends of the first and second probes. A flexible translucent tubing means having a first and a second sheath portions and an intermediate portion enables the first and second sheath portions to removably encompass the first and second probes.
Abstract: A rotatable surgical tool is disclosed for cutting and removing tissue from a patient. The tool includes an outer tubular member having a proximal end portion and a distal end portion. An inner tubular member has a distal end portion and a proximal end portion with the distal end portion of the inner tubular member having a cutter. The inner tubular member is rotatably disposed within the outer tubular member enabling the cutter to shear tissue disposed in the vicinity of the distal end portions upon rotation of the inner tubular member relative to the outer tubular member. A flexible transmission interconnects the distal end portion and the proximal end portion of the inner tubular member for transmitting rotational movement from a rotary power source to the cutter.
Abstract: A hose clamp wherein the slotted strap portion is cut to a desired clamp size from a stock supply length. The clamp provides a housing for the two ends of the cut portion. Projections carried by the housing permit a first end of the strap to be removably engaged with the housing. A second member, preferably the second end of the strap, fills the space above the attached first end to interfere with the movement of the first end off the projection. Thus the assembly of a cut strap portion and a drive housing can be accomplished without tools.
