Abstract: An inverted aerosol dispensing device is disclosed comprising an aerosol container extending between a top portion and a bottom portion for containing an aerosol product and an aerosol propellant therein. An aerosol valve is located at the bottom portion of the aerosol container. The aerosol valve has a valve stem for displacing the aerosol valve from a biased closed position to an open position to discharge the aerosol product from the valve stem. An undercap is secured to the bottom portion of the aerosol container for supporting the aerosol container on a supporting surface. An actuator is movably mounted relative to the undercap for moving the valve stem upon displacement of the actuator for discharging the aerosol product from the valve stem in a generally downwardly direction through the undercap. The invention is particularly useful in the dispensing of viscous aerosol products.

Abstract: A biochemical membrane encapsulated by a synthetically-derived neuraminic acid residue, to mask the surface of the membrane from recognition and removal by the scavenging RES cells of the body.
Abstract: An apparatus (16) for diagnosing faults in the electrical circuit of a motor vehicle which has a microprocessor (90) connected to a wiring harness (10) of a vehicle for controlling selected operations of the vehicle as a diagnostic microprocessor (22) which is coupled to the vehicle microprocessor (90) and wiring harness (10) by way of a multipin connector (14) and either an autotest circuit (44) or a manual breakout box (42) and reference probe (18). The microprocessor (22) also has a further test probe (20) for connection to the various terminals in the wiring harness (10). A plugin module (28) stores information particular to the vehicle and the test and the diagnostic microprocessor (22) monitors the vehicle microprocessor (90) and interprets any fault signals received from this using the information in the plugin module (28) to carry out a diagnostic test of the vehicle wiring harness (10) to locate the fault.
Abstract: An apparatus and method is disclosed for an improved flexible eduction tube for discharging a liquid product from a container with a dispensing mechanism comprising a mixture of a flexible material with a dense filler material distributed within said flexible material to provide a specific gravity greater than the liquid product within the container for enabling an input aperture of the eduction tube to remain below the level of the liquid product within the container when the container is tipped from a vertical orientation. In another embodiment of the invention, the eduction tube comprises a flexible material and rigid means for providing a non-flexible eduction tube prior to insertion of the eduction tube within the container and for providing a flexible eduction tube upon contact with the liquid product within the container.

Abstract: An improved dip tube for a hand operated dispensing device is disclosed comprising a longitudinally extending dip tube having an outer surface and an inner surface for defining a wall thickness therebetween. A plurality of surface projections protrude from the inner surface of the dip tube and extend longitudinally along an internal channel of the dip tube. The plurality of surface projections are uniformly disposed about the dip tube for defining a plurality of recessed portions therebetween. The plurality of surface projections define major wall thickness portions for providing structural strength for the dip tube. The improved dip tube provides a conventional cross-section area of the internal channel with a reduced volume of material used in the construction of the improved dip tube.
Abstract: An apparatus and method is disclosed for an improved faucet and mounting, which enables the installation and removal of the faucet from the top side of a sink. FIGS. 1 and 3 of the drawings are substantially identical except for the manner for delivering water to the faucet structure. In both of the illustrations, the conventional means for clamping the faucet to the deck of a sink are eliminated. The invention is illustrated in place thereof. In FIG. 1, the substantially universal mount, using supply nipples both to anchor, and to supply water, hot and cold, is replaced by elimination of the function of the supply line as anchor means.
Abstract: An aerofoil (10) for a turbocharger stator for a large diesel engine has a convex, upper wall (12) and a concave, lower wall (14) with a leading edge (16) and a trailing edge (18). A wiggle strip (22) extends the length of the aerofoil and is brazed to the walls to provide added strength. The inner surface of the wall (12) is reinforced by a plate (20) extending from the trailing edge to a point in the region of the maximum spacing between the walls (12, 14). The plate is a shaped reinforcement piece and gives added strength to the area of the wall (12) which is impacted by cleaning medium. It provides a localized reinforcement to the area which is prone to damage by cleaning.
Abstract: An improved manually actuated pump is disclosed for dispensing a volume of liquid from a container, comprising a body having a duct with a duct conduit communicating with the body. A piston is disposed within the body for slidably sealing with the duct to define a pump chamber with at least a portion of the piston being disposed external to the body defining a piston stem having a stem passage extending therethrough. A spring biases the piston into an extended position. An induction tube is received within the duct conduit for providing fluid communication between the liquid within the container and the pump chamber. A first one-way valve enables the flow of the liquid only from the container into the pump chamber whereas a second one-way valve enables the flow of the liquid only from the pump chamber into the stem passage.

Abstract: High impact energy is applied to a modified lecithin in water, to form a base product. A block copolymer surfactant, water and organic oil are added to this base product, and high impact energy is applied once again. The resultant product is a stable aqueous distribution of the organic oil.
Abstract: A recovery system (10) is disclosed for recovering a treating material (12) for treating a surface (20) with a vacuum source (25). The treating material (12) may be a cleaning material such as sand, water or may be a coating material such as a paint or a plasma coating. The apparatus (10) ,comprises a housing (16) having a housing opening (18) for projecting the treating material (12) from a nozzle (14) through the housing opening (18) onto the surface (20). A fluid seal means (30) provides a seal between the housing (16) and the surface (20). The vacuum source (25) is connected to the housing (16) for withdrawing the treating non-adhering material (12A) from the housing (16).
Abstract: An improved resistive electrode is disclosed for a welding apparatus for welding a battery terminal post to a battery bushing, The battery terminal post is electrically connected to a battery plate disposed within a battery case and the battery bushing is secured to a battery case cover with the bushing having a central bushing aperture for receiving the battery terminal post therein when the battery case cover is located on the battery case. The resistive electrode comprising a resistive electrode extending between a base end and a tip end with the base end being secured to a power source.
