Abstract: A component adjustor is added to an incineration residue containing salts to adjust a component ratio determined by the equation (Ca+Mg)/(Si+Al) in the range of 0.7 to 2.0. The incineration residue having the adjusted component ratio is charged to a melting furnace maintained in a reducing atmosphere to form a melt. The melt is separated into a molten slag layer, a molten salt layer, and a molten metal layer. The molten slag is fractionated and discharged from the melting furnace. The discharged molten slag is rapidly cooled. The temperature of the vapor phase in the melting furnace is maintained at 700 to 1000° C. A non-oxidizing gas is blown into the vapor phase in the melting furnace to increase the amounts of exhaust gases exhausted from the melting furnace.

Abstract: A pearlitic steel railroad rail which comprises 0.75 to 0.84% C, 0.10 to 1.0% Si, 0.4 to 2.5% Mn, 0.035% or less P, 0.035% or less S, and 0.05 to 0.6% Nb, by weight. This rail has better wear resistance than the heretofore used pearlitic steel rail and sufficient ductility so cracks do not appear due to thermal dilation and contraction caused by a change of temperature. The rail is consequently very suitable for the use in a mine railroad.

Abstract: A heater plate and a support structure are provided in a chamber. First terminals are arranged on the reverse side of the heater plate. The support structure is provided with second terminals in positions opposite to the first terminals, individually. The first and second terminals are coupled mechanically and electrically to one another by means of springy joint members of an electrically-conductive material. The joint members are removably attached to the first and second terminals. The heater plate can be separated from the support structure by disengaging the joint members from the first or second terminals.
