Abstract: A working surface incorporates a means for transferring mechanical energy produced by a rotating member of the working surface so that the energy rotates a shaft attached to an alternator that charges a bank of 12 V batteries. The alternator is responsible for converting the mechanical energy being input by the rotating shaft to electrical energy that is fed to the batteries. The batteries transfer the energy into an inverter for use depending upon the required amount. Thereby, backup electrical power may be generated and stored, taking advantage of excess horsepower at cruise provided by a vehicle as well as better utilizing travel time. Additionally, the added cost of ownership and noise of a portable power generator is avoided.
Abstract: A particle blast system includes a feeder assembly having a rotor with a plurality of pockets formed in the peripheral surface. The transport gas flowpath includes the pockets, such that substantially all transport gas flows through the pockets. The seal adjacent the peripheral surface is actuated by the transport gas pressure to urge its sealing surface against the rotor's peripheral surface. At start up, there is no substantial pressure between the seal and the rotor, reducing start up torque requirements.

Abstract: The resilient scraping blade attachment is provided that includes an attachment hook-up assembly adapted to be mounted on a vehicle. The attachment hook-up assembly includes an elongated central support member and a vehicle interface component. In addition, the attachment hook-up assembly includes a pair of diagonal supports that link the central support member to the vehicle interface component. A mounting plate is secured at an end of the central support member. A resilient blade assembly is attached to the attachment hook-up assembly by means of a bearing bracket and bearing means. The resilient blade assembly includes an elongated blade mounting channel having a pair of resilient blades mounted thereon. The resilient blade assembly includes extension blades that may be mounted at the ends of the blade mounting channel in order to increase the effective width of the resilient blade assembly. The extension blades may be contoured to approximate different surfaces such as a roadside curb.
