Abstract: A distillate fuel feed is hydrotreated to remove heteroatoms and then separated into light and heavy hydrotreated fractions, with the heavy fraction catalytically dewaxed to improve low temperature properties. The hydrotreating and dewaxing are conducted in separate stages, which may be in the same reactor vessel. Fresh hydrogen may be passed into the dewaxing stage, with the dewaxing stage gaseous effluent then passed into the hydrotreating stage to provide hydrogen for the hydrotreating. Existing hydrotreating reaction vessels and facilities may be retrofitted to add one or more dewaxing stages.

Abstract: A process for selectively converting a feed comprising oxygenate to normally liquid boiling range C5+ hydrocarbons in a single step is provided which comprises a) contacting the feed under oxygenate conversion conditions with a catalyst comprising a unidimensional 10-ring zeolite, e.g., one selected from the group consisting of ZSM-22, ZSM-23, ZSM-35, ZSM-48, ZSM-57, and ferrierite, at temperatures below 350° C. and oxygenate pressures above 40 psia (276 kPa); and b) recovering a normally liquid boiling range C5+ hydrocarbons-rich product stream, e.g, gasoline and distillate boiling range hydrocarbons or C4 to C12 olefins.

Abstract: The present invention provides a functionalized styrenic polymer or copolymer which contains functionalized stryene moiety having the formula: ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 is hydrogen, alkyl, primary and secondary halo alkyl groups, and R.sub.2 is: ##STR2## where n is an integer of from 2 to about 10, R.sub.3 is independently hydrogen or an alkyl group and X is NH, O or S. The novel copolymers of the present invention have particular utility in forming polymer blends. For example, the amine and alcohol functionalized polymers can be used as compatabilizers by reacting them with a carboxylic acid containing polymer or the like.
Abstract: A composition for dispersing oil slicks consisting of a surfactant or a mixture of surfactants having the general formula: ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are the same or different oxyalkylene or polyoxyalkylene groups, andwherein R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 are the same or different alkyl or alkenyl groups. The composition also includes a carrier solvent.
