  • Patent number: 8347533
Abstract: Flexible indicia bearing labels are placed on armored electrical cable at spaced apart intervals while the cable is moving continuously from an armoring station to a takeup reel or accumulator. A label dispenser places labels in a U shaped recess of a body which is moveable toward engagement with the cable. Opposed rollers fold one edge of the label over into engagement with the surface of the cable and the other edge of the label over onto itself in overlapping relationship. The cable is passed through a heat tunnel to shrink the labels into tight engagement with the cable. A controller monitors movement of the cable and controls actuators for applying and folding labels onto the cable at spaced apart intervals.

  • Patent number: 8350622
Abstract: A circuit includes a differential amplifier having a folded cascode architecture with a pair of cascode transistors. A sensing circuit senses a common mode input voltage of a differential input signal applied to the differential amplifier. A bias generator circuit generates a bias voltage for application to the pair of cascode transistors in the folded cascode architecture. The bias generator circuit is connected to an output of the sensing circuit such that the generated bias voltage has a value which is dependent on the sensed common mode input voltage. This dependence stabilizes a common mode output voltage from the differential amplifier in response to changes in the common mode input voltage.

  • Patent number: 8347258
Abstract: A package includes a die and at least one further die. The die has an interface configured to receive a transaction request from the further die via an interconnect and to transmit a response to the transaction request to said further die via the interconnect. The die also has mapping circuitry which is configured to allocate to the received transaction a local source identity information as source identity information, the local source identity information comprising one of a set of reusable local source identity information. This ensures the order of transactions tagged with a same original source identity and target and allows transactions tagged with different source identifiers to be processed out of order.

  • Patent number: 8344299
Abstract: A cylinder heater useful in fabricating sleeves for high pressure pump liners comprises a support rotatably supporting a hollow circular cylinder having a metallic powder layer contacting a portion of its inner surface. A vibration sensor indicates vibration of the cylinder, and at least one temperature sensor indicates at least one temperature of the cylinder. At least one circumferential induction heating coil around the cylinder is positionable via the support along the longitudinal axis of cylinder rotation. Longitudinal position and power output of at least one heating coil, and cylinder rotational speed, are adjusted by a controller communicating with the support, the vibration sensor, at least one temperature sensor, and at least one heating coil. Controlled heating of the cylinder and the metallic powder layer results in a stratified abrasion-resistant fused metallic layer on the cylinder's inner surface. The fused layer may be honed to make a liner sleeve.

  • Patent number: 8347275
Abstract: To address a desire to run 3D applications based on the OpenGL standard on OpenGL|ES mobile devices such as cellular telephones, one must be able to translate function calls between OpenGL and OpenGL|ES. In supporting this translation, and so as to ensure proper data state for the continued execution of the OpenGL application, global GL states which might be changed by an OpenGL|ES function used during translation are stored. The OpenGL to OpenGL|ES translation is then effectuated by substituting appropriate OpenGL|ES commands for OpenGL commands, and passing OpenGL|ES APIs for OpenGL|ES implementation. Thereafter, the global GL states which were previously saved are restored such that the performed translation does not adversely impact continued execution of the OpenGL configured application. This translation process supports OpenGL to OpenGL|ES translation with respect to a number of OpenGL APIs as well as some known extensions.

  • Patent number: 8329525
Abstract: At least three metal-oxide semiconductor transistors with different threshold voltages are formed in and above corresponding first, second and third parts of a semiconductor substrate. The first oxide layer above the second part is etched and a second oxide layer having a second thickness smaller than the first thickness is formed. The first oxide layer above the third part is etched and a third oxide layer having a third thickness smaller than the second thickness is formed. The second and the third oxide layers are then nitrided to form first and second oxy-nitride layers.

  • Patent number: 8331570
Abstract: The quality of music output from audio systems is improved by simulating the effect of low frequency signals in the human ear. This thus allows listeners to perceive the lower frequency signals, even though the speakers may be incapable of providing such low frequency outputs. Method and systems provided for processing enhancing bass effect in audio signals. Said method and systems result in the bass enhancement being computationally less intensive. The bass effect enhancement techniques described are based on the response of sine and cosine transfer functions and on the directional independence of low frequency components. The human ear is unable to resolve directions from low frequency components. The bass effect enhancement technique alternatively is based on response of an exponential transfer function.

  • Patent number: 8331571
Abstract: The broadcasting of audio contents by two loudspeakers is controlled by delivering a first audio content to the two loudspeakers and a further processing in which an auxiliary audio content is received. A second audio content is formed by temporally delaying the auxiliary audio content with a delay dependent on the spacing between the loudspeakers and on a distance between a first loudspeaker and a spot located in front of this first loudspeaker. The second audio content is delivered to the first loudspeaker. A third audio content is formed by inverting the auxiliary audio content. The third audio content is then delivered to the second loudspeaker.

  • Patent number: 8327956
Abstract: A PDC bit includes a plurality of blades including primary blades and secondary blades. The included primary blades are set with PDC cutters in accordance with a “single set” methodology. The included secondary blades, however, are set with PDC cutters using a type of “plural set” methodology such that the radial positions of cutters on a secondary blade match the radial positions of cutters on a single set primary which is immediately preceding that secondary blade. Plural secondary blades can be positioned to follow a single primary blade, and the cutters on those plural secondary blades will have radial positions matching the cutters of the immediately preceding single set primary blade.

  • Patent number: 8312805
Abstract: A high pressure piston for use within a liner sleeve of a reciprocating pump comprises a dual-durometer elastomeric seal having first and second coaxial seal sections and, in certain embodiments, a circumferential bearing ring. Interactions of the seal components, including seal elastomers, result in stress redistribution within the seal which maintains sealing preload, with corresponding improved extrusion resistance and seal durability. When a bearing ring is present, a pump's pressure stroke causes at least a portion of the bearing ring to elastically expand radially to narrow or close the extrusion gap, thus tending to block elastomer extrusion by establishing sliding contact between the bearing ring's external surface and the liner. On the pump's return stroke the slightly wider extrusion gap allows cooling water directed generally toward the proximal flange of the piston hub to better cleanse, as well as cool, the liner wall.
