Abstract: An electrical switch having a housing with a support member, a rocker arm pivotally coupled to the support member for movement about an axis A, a first terminal coupled to the housing, and a lever pivotally coupled to the housing for pivotal movement about an axis B. The rocker arm includes a first member located on a first side of the pivot axis A, a second member on a second side of the pivot axis A, and a first movable contact coupled to the first member. The lever is pivoted in a first direction to engage the first member on the rocker arm to move the first movable contact away from the first terminal contact to scrape debris from the first movable contact and the first terminal contact. The lever is pivoted in a second direction to engage the second member on the rocker arm to move the first movable contact into a sliding engagement with the first terminal contact.

Abstract: A raceway bridge assembly is provided for carrying wires or cables over an intersecting raceway or other object without interfering with the intersecting raceway. The raceway bridge assembly includes a pair of opposing bridge fittings and a connecting raceway section extending between the raceway fittings. The bridge fittings have a first open end lying in a first plane and a second open end lying in a second plane spaced above said first open end. The bridge fittings have side walls that are coupled to a cover of a raceway section. A top wall is removably coupled to an upper edge of the sidewalls of the bridge fitting and is coupled to the connecting raceway section.

Abstract: An occupancy sensor is provided with a separable override unit which can selectively override the operation of the occupancy sensor at designated times and for selected time intervals. The occupancy sensor includes a light sensor for actuating the occupancy sensor and a light assembly when the ambient light is below a predetermined level and to deactivate the occupancy sensor when the ambient light is above a threshold level to prevent the light assembly from being actuated when the light level is sufficient to avoid the need for actuating the light assembly. The override unit is removably attached to the occupancy sensor and is provided with a light source, such as an LED. The override unit is coupled to the occupancy sensor to emit light to actuate the light sensor of the occupancy sensor, thereby controlling the operation of the occupancy sensor, such as by preventing the occupancy sensor from being actuated regardless of the light level in the surrounding areas.

Abstract: A lighting assembly includes a housing enclosing a lamp for illuminating a target area. The housing has an open end and an end wall removably coupled to the open end of the housing. A retaining member such as a spring clip extends between the end wall and the internal portion of the housing for retaining the end wall to the housing. The spring clip has one end coupled to the end wall and a hook-like portion received in an aperture in the housing for applying a biasing tension on the end wall.

Abstract: A portable junction or outlet box is provided having an elastomeric outer layer to provide impact resistance and abrasion resistance to the electrical box. The outer layer encloses the outer surface of a rigid electrical box and overlies the side walls and end walls of the electrical box. The corners of the outer layer define a thickened portion relative to the side portions of the outer layer to increase the impact resistance.

Abstract: A lighting fixture is provided that includes a ceiling pan having an opening with a trim received therein. The trim includes a ring with a spring clip attached thereto. The spring clip includes first and second legs having a first end joined at an apex and second free end opposite the first end. The second free ends are fixed to the trim to bias the spring clip in a downward direction to engage a top surface of the ceiling pan and bias the trim in an upward direction toward the ceiling pan. In one embodiment, the ends of the spring clip are fixed to the trim by a screw. In another embodiment, the spring clip is a torsion spring engaging the trim and includes first and second legs with a portion extending therefrom and received in an aperture in the trim. The ends are oriented at an inclined angle with respect to the legs such that when the legs are attached to the trim, the legs are biased in a downward direction with respect to the ceiling pan. The torsion spring clip can be retrofit to the trim ring.

Abstract: A low profile linear high bay fluorescent luminaire with a downwardly facing and room side accessible ballast channel. The lighting fixture includes a housing assembly having a longitudinal axis with a first reflector located on a first side of the longitudinal axis. A second reflector is located on a second side of the longitudinal axis. The first and second reflectors are spaced apart with at least one ballast therebetween. At least one ballast is coupled to the housing assembly and extends downwardly from the housing assembly. A cover for the ballast is located below the ballast. The lighting fixture also includes a means for releasably coupling the cover to the housing assembly. The lighting fixture can be suspended from a ceiling or joist in a number of ways including mounting brackets, wire hangers, and ceiling assemblies, and can have an occupancy sensor attached thereto.

Abstract: The multi-directional lighting fixture includes a lighting fixture having a substantially elongated opaque housing with first and second ends with an open top for emitting light in an upward direction and a longitudinal slot along the bottom surface of the housing extending between the first and second ends. The longitudinal slot includes a shielding material, such as a louver or cover, with a predetermined degree of light translucence. The housing has a substantially elliptical cross section tapering towards one end of the housing. The ends of the housing have elliptical translucent members that can transmit lighting horizontally and radially outward from the interior of the housing. Two or more housings can be coupled together in series.

Abstract: A mounting bracket for supporting an electrical box or other electrical device to a wall stud is adapted to contact an opposing wall to resist movement of the bracket. The bracket includes a front plate and a support plate extending perpendicular to the front plate and having a length to engage the opposing wall. The extension plate is integrally formed with the support plate and can be folded to an outward extended position to increase the effective length of the stabilizing plate to accommodate wall cavities of different depths. The extension plate includes fold lines so that an end portion can be bent to shorten the effective length of the extension plate.

Abstract: A lighting assembly includes a lamp alignment assembly for positioning the lamps after the lighting assembly is installed. The lighting assembly includes a ceiling pan for mounting to the ceiling support and a lamp assembly attached to the ceiling pan. The lamp assembly is adjustable in a transverse and rotational direction with respect to the ceiling pan. The lamp assembly is provided with alignment springs to align the lamp assembly at predetermined settings. A sight window is formed in the ceiling to visually set the lamp assembly in a selected position. A locking member on the lamp assembly locks the lamp assembly in a fixed position on the ceiling pan.

Abstract: A weatherproof outlet includes a base plate for coupling to an electrical box and a hinged cover. The base plate has at least one opening for accessing an electrical wiring device such as an electrical receptacle mounted in the electrical box. The top surface of the base plate includes an inner rim and an outer rim having a dimension to shed water away from the access opening and the wiring device. A weatherproof gasket is attached to the top surface of the base plate within the confines of the inner wall and overlying the access opening. The gasket includes a plurality of slits for receiving the prongs of a plug and to form a waterproof seal around the prongs when inserted into the slots of an electrical receptacle.

Abstract: An adjustable depth cover plate assembly includes a top plate and an adjustable sleeve to compensate for different spacing between the outer surface of a wall and the front side of an electrical box. The adjustable cover plate is positioned on the electrical box with the end of the sleeve abutting the electrical box. Mounting screws of an electrical wiring device pass through an opening in the top plate of the cover plate into the electrical box whereby the cover plate is captured between the wiring device and the electrical box. The length of the sleeve of the cover plate is adjustable by providing frangible score lines or telescoping members.

Abstract: A cover assembly for attaching to an electrical box includes housing and a cover hinged to the housing. The assembly is mounted to the electrical box to protect an electrical device from moisture while allowing access to the electrical device. The housing has an inner chamber, an outer chamber and an access opening into the outer chamber for the electrical cord that can be connected to the electrical device. The cover assembly is provided with a water barrier member between the inner chamber and the outer chamber to inhibit water and debris from entering the housing of the cover assembly through the access opening.

Abstract: A luminaire and lighting assembly is provided having a ceiling pan and a light assembly supported on the ceiling pan. The light assembly is rotatable and movable in a lateral direction on the ceiling pan to provide adjustment of the light assembly with respect to the ceiling pan. The light assembly includes an aiming device which allows the lamp to be adjusted about a vertical axis and about a horizontal axis for adjustment of the lamp. The aiming assembly includes a locking assembly which fixes the position of the aiming assembly to simultaneously prevent rotation about the vertical axis and about the horizontal axis.

Abstract: The wall cover plate assembly includes a base and a cover for connecting to an electrical box and an electrical wiring device. The base is connected to the electrical box and/or the electrical wiring device by suitable fasteners. The base includes a first coupling member positioned along opposite side edges and second coupling members positioned at each corner of the base plate. A cover includes a first coupling member for engaging the first coupling member on the base plate and connectors for engaging the second coupling members on the base plate. The connectors of the cover are angled with respect to a plane of the cover to engage a connecting member of the second coupling members. The connectors provide a biasing force to engage the second coupling members of the base which increase when the cover plate is pulled outwardly from the base.
